✨TEN LIVES SAVED TODAY✨

A huge thanks to the entire @thebarkinglotrescue team for always stopping by to pick up SEAACA shelter dogs!

Most of today’s saves were critically urgent dogs and long stay residents. The shelter kennels have been filling up, and you’ve allowed space for others. We are so thankful!

Thank you Stacy and @melb42 for always putting together such smooth plans! 🩷 Every week, from the bottom of my heart, I’m so grateful for you✨

If you’re in a position to donate, please send a few bucks to this amazing rescue. They picked up sick dogs, dogs who need to be microchipped, dogs who need spay/neuters, dentals, grooming… and the list goes on.

✨29 precious lives got their freedom today✨

@thebarkinglotrescue once again showed up in a big way for SEAACA dogs. Today’s group was full of long-timers and critically urgent pups who desperately needed a way out.

The kennels are overflowing — and this massive pull gave so many others a fighting chance.

Endless gratitude to Stacy and @melb42 for making the magic happen so smoothly, and to Jim for being the getaway hero 🩷 Week after week, I’m in awe of this team.

If you’re able, please consider donating to support these dogs. Among them are sick pups, a parvo-positive baby, a mama with her newborns, and several who’ll need medical and grooming care.

Happy Sunday! 🐾❤️
Just a little reminder today to volunteer at your local shelter, foster that dog you’ve been thinking about, adopt that second dog, or donate to a rescue so they can continue saving lives. Every little bit makes a difference. 🐶❤️
And while we’re celebrating happy endings, these two sweet pups are still waiting for their forever families! 🏡🐾
💕 Sash — a beautiful, friendly Weimaraner/Dobie mix who is as sweet as she is gorgeous!
💕 Ziggurat — a spunky, loving Pug/Spaniel mix who will keep you smiling and fill your home with love!
If you’ve been thinking about adding a furry family member, these two angels are still looking for their second chance. ❤️
I missed all my Barking Lot babies so much, so yesterday was such a wonderful day! 🥹🐾
These three angels found their second chances and, most importantly, their forever homes yesterday. 🏡❤️

This is a hard one... 💔
Some rescue dogs come into your life and leave a footprint on your heart that never fades. Oslo—my Ozzy—was one of those dogs.
I met Ozzy four years ago when I first started volunteering with The Barking Lot Dog Rescue. Even though he was adoptable, life wasn’t always kind to my big hippo. He was returned after guarding his family, and because of a few incidents that could have been worked through with guidance, patience, and structure, he became one of the dogs society overlooked. Instead of finding a forever home, he became a permanent member of the TBL family.
And honestly, we were the lucky ones.
Ozzy quickly became one of my favorites. With his giant hippo body, goofy personality, and hilarious habit of blowing bubbles in the pool, he made everyone smile. But beneath that big, blocky head was the sweetest soul you could ever meet. Once you earned his trust, you were his person forever. Every single time I walked him back to his kennel, he demanded kisses, hugs, and treats before he would go inside. It wasn’t optional. ❤️
He adored his girls at TBL and Chris. We were his family, and he was ours.
Our sweet 11-year-old hippo unexpectedly passed away from bloat. Because of his age, underlying health, and the severity of his condition, emergency surgery wasn’t an option. It all happened far too fast, and saying goodbye is heartbreaking.
Run free, my handsome hippo. 🌈 I hope you’re up there with Oscar, racing through fields, blowing bubbles in every pool you can find, and surrounded by endless love, treats, toys, and all of your favorite things.
Thank you for loving us the way you did, Ozzy. You may not have found the forever home you deserved, but you were deeply loved every single day by your TBL family.
I love you, Ozzy boy. Until we meet again. ❤️🐾 by @melb42

When you go from scared, clinging to each other for comfort in a place where hope was fading... to the safety of a rescue that refused to separate you, giving you and your best friend every chance to stay together.

Because sometimes the greatest rescue isn’t just saving a life—it’s making sure best friends never have to say goodbye. ❤️🐾#rescuedog #freedom #adoptdontshop #bestfriend #sandiego by @melb42

✨Freedom for the sweetest little girls!

A huge thank you to @thebarkinglotrescue for saving Story and Fable. 🥹 It was so good to see you today, @melb42 . 💕

These two girls came into the shelter together and stayed by each other’s side the whole time. Even after catching colds and feeling so miserable, they never stopped being sweet. They came way too close to losing their lives, and I am so thankful they’re finally out.

One of my favorite things about these girls is how they hug you. They both just want to wrap themselves around you and stay as close as possible. They’re such affectionate, soulful little angels, and I love them more than I can put into words.

They both left the shelter pretty sick, so they’ll need time to recover before they can be spayed.

If you pledged for Story or Fable, please remember to honor your pledge. If you didn’t pledge but would still like to help with their medical care, any amount helps.
