FINAL COVER REVEAL! 👀✨

We're in the home straits now (is that the correct term🤔)... We've gone back and forth with different colour and font options and we've had multiple family votes with lots of different opinions... But we've finally decided on the cover for the full manga!

Ayesha Dean has been part of my writing life for many years, and seeing her story transformed into manga has been a surreal experience.

If you've been following Ayesha's journey from the start, thank you for your support along the way.

And if you've just discovered me through my recent Reels… welcome! 🥰 You have arrived at a good time inshaallah.

The manga is coming, and pre-orders are opening very soon...📖✨

What do you think of the cover? 👇

What happens when a journalist/rising author, historic fiction author and fantasy author from Western Sydney get together? …They appear on an Echoes in Fiction panel for Parramatta’s Lit Industry Day!!!! 🔥

It was an absolute privilege to be part of the Echoes in Fiction panel led by the phenomenal Eleanor Cooper as we discussed drawing upon history and culture in writing. Conversation was sparkling as Ally shared her experiences in writing her debut novel Swallow which follows pirate William Swallow and his incredible journey and I had the opportunity to share my experience in writing My Harimau King from my research that sent me down a rabbit hole to consulting with family regarding our ancestor’s legend that is preserved through pantun (oral history) among other Indonesian legends.

With special thanks to Parramatta’s Lit 🔥 (I’m looking at you, Augusta Supple) for having us as guests on your program, such an honour to be part of spotlighting the arts from Parra!!

COMING SOON!!! Aminah’s Path, a My Harimau King companion..

Once again, I give my heartfelt thanks and love to all the wonderful readers who asked for more upon reading My Harimau King, it means so much to me, I hope you enjoy Aminah Abbas’ story..

In My Harimau King, Aminah’s friends Sumaiyah, Alif, and James were magically transported from modern-day Parramatta to Pajajaran in ancient Indonesia. Aminah disappeared first. But what happened before her friends found her trapped in the coils of the Naga?

Aminah’s Path takes us on her remarkable journey in Pajajaran where she meets an unlikely ally and encounters a bunch of frightening Indonesian mythological creatures. She must dig deep in order to survive some of the most treacherous experiences she’d only ever dreamed of in her nightmares.

You’ve read Sumaiyah Jackson’s story in My Harimau King, now it’s time for Aminah Abbas’ point of view in this special edition story!

TITLE REVEAL DAY!!!! When I embarked on my journey to write My Harimau King, it was always my intention to write a stand alone novel. However, since it debuted over a year ago, the wonderful readers asked for more so in recent months another thought came to me.. What happened to Sumaiyah’s bestie, Aminah Abbas when she was one of the first to disappear?

Well soon enough, you’re going to know as the follow up… 🥁 🥁 🥁

Aminah’s Path, a My Harimau King companion

is coming very soon!!!

Get ready to not only read about Aminah’s incredible journey in Pajajaran, the unlikely friendship she makes and the horrifying Indonesian mythological monsters she encounters (as referenced here) but learn about her backstory and Aminah as a person, something we don’t get in My Harimau King. You will find, there is much about her we don’t know.. ..until now!!

Cover reveal is very close.. stay tuned!! In the meantime, pick up My Harimau King before Aminah’s Path comes out 😎 Hatur nuhun to the supportive readers who asked for more… legit this is for you! 💚

Character art of Aminah done by the wonderfully talented Inda Ahmad Zahri (make sure you read her awesome picture books)

Special thanks to my amazing Melby Rose Publishing family for getting behind Aminah’s story!! I hope you’re as excited about this as I am 💚

Where in the world has Ayesha Dean been? 🌏

Ayesha Dean is 10 years old this year😆 She's been solving mysteries, getting into adventures, and travelling to some amazing places along the way.

So I thought I'd look back at some of the fabulous places she (and I) have visited🤩

Swipe through and see how many you recognise... And if you've been reading Ayesha since the beginning…

Which destination was your favourite? Please let me know in the comments!

And look forward to the next adventure ahead...

Ten years ago, I wrote her story.

A whole generation has grown up with Ayesha Dean and Alhamdulillah, after all these years, she’s still here.

She’s grown. I’ve grown. And now her story is being brought to life in a completely new way.

✨ She’s coming back!
📖 This time, in manga.

🎨 I've adapted the manga script for this reimagined story with gorgeous illustrations by @manara_elimrany

If you remember Ayesha Dean from the beginning, I’d love to know:

How did you first meet Ayesha Dean? 💚
