Last year, I quit my job as a space project manager and went full-time with pole! It was a freaking terrifying decision to leave a stable career (I didn’t even tell my parents for a while!) but I kept thinking to myself: if not now, when?

Even though some nights I get home at 5am after performing, and teach first thing in the morning; my body is battered and bruised and I have no guarantee of my next source of income.. it’s also the first time in my life I have made a decision for me, not following what society deems as “successful”. And I have never been happier. ✨

I think we spend so much of our lives believing that if we just push harder, we’ll get where we want to be.

But I truly believe not everything is meant to be chased. A circus career is not something I ever dreamed of - I just kept following the things in life that sparked joy ✨

And once you slow down enough to follow your intuition, momentum has a funny way of taking care of itself…

I almost didn’t post this video.

Recently, someone commented that I’d gained a little weight. And if I’m being honest, it got to me more than I’d like to admit.

For a moment, I couldn’t bring myself to set up a camera and look at my body through a lens. No matter how much work you do on yourself, one tiny comment can make you forget the work you’ve done to unlearn the belief that your self-worth is tied to your appearance…

But then I reminded myself: yes, my body looks different.

But I’m also stronger.
I recover better.
I have more energy.
I can enjoy meals with friends, train hard, perform, hang by my hair (!) and pole dance for a living, and do things I once only dreamed of doing 🫶

So to anyone needing a confidence boost, this is your reminder to put on your cutest outfit (mine is from the fabulous @dressinup_artatelier 💫), and to take up space unapologetically.
