I received an electronic advanced readers copy(ARC) of The Cairo Bridal Shop by Tess Woods.

I usually don't read contemporary women's fiction I never thought it was my jam but I studied Egyptology in uni and have a love for culture, history and emotionally gripping narratives. The setting and the cover caught my eye and got me to sign up and I'm so glad I was approved.

This book has opened my eyes up to a whole new genre and I'm also running off to grab The Venice Hotel by Tess Woods now too 🤫

You Stole My Star ✨ my second WIP an adult fiction speculative suspense.

Living in the aftermath of telling people about the threats to her life, Cassi is stuck trying to figure out her next move when a new threat emerges. She's been here before, this isn't her first rodeo but far from home, and questioning her sanity, she can't afford to make a mistake.

Multi POV set in contemporary Athens.
Elements of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, Watch Me Disappear by Janelle Brown, and The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.

Books I have on my TBR now: 10
I learned my reading speed is about 600 WPM, so I'm hopeful that will be down to 0 soon...

TikTok is actually going pretty steady! I love the minimal effort required 🫣 and people seem to like me yapping so that's a win:win. I'm going through my save the cat process so follow me there if you'd like to see more of me.

Tahlia is dying and no one knows why. When you're dying and you're 18, you can make some poor choices like trying to make peace with your ex.

Everyone responds to Tahlia's situation differently, so her ex Seth and her younger sister Tammy seek out beyond the realm of possible to save her. When Seth goes missing and is discovered dead Tahlia comes face to face with the underworld Seth and Tammy are now tangled up in.

That's when her world collides with Leo, Hell's second in command who has been on the hunt for the Chosen One. A prophecy of a hybrid of human, angel and demon - one of only a few children in the world. A secret weapon that will tip the scale of a war between heaven and hell. Many don't survive to adulthood, and if she doesn't choose a side she will die.

With right and wrong not so black and white at 18 and a new found life extension, Tahlia isn't interested in fighting a war but trying to live her small town life. Leo isn't giving up though, in her ear, masquerading as a wise guide as her life unravels. We see what happens when the Villain finds the chosen one first, the consequences of young love and a cruel world on an impressionable young woman with too much power....

HE FOUND HER FIRST is told from multiple POVs from Tammy, Tahlia, Leo, and Seth.

This is my debut novel. I am a full-time book store manager and have been working on this manuscript and others for a few years. Growing up in early 2000s small coastal town in NSW of under 2,000 people my hometown area and nostalgia of the time period I grew up in is very present in this novel. Along with some life lessons I wish I learnt sooner.

My first BookBox just arrived 🤸‍♀️
🧙‍♀️🧹 I love the witch vibes of this one 😻

I love that I've never heard of either of these books before and with the Red City bonus I couldn't say no to two books for the price of one!

I was most pleasantly surprised by the reading journal usually it's not my thing I always pick them up and think meh I don't neeeeeeeed it. So it was nice that it came in this box felt like a gift to myself 🫣🤫 and with all these new books piling up for me to review 📚 I actually do need a journal to keep track of all my thoughts so perfect timing ✨❤️

I try and pick my books carefully and try to pick up only books I think I'll really love -I'm not interested in reading something because it's trendy or any other reason. So when I read and review a book remember my reviews are my personal opinion and it doesn't mean you won't love the book or that the book isn't good. I highly recommend you check it out and see if it's for you 💗
