I haven’t baked cookies in over a year (thanks to my nonstop work and travel schedule), but I finally got around to making my favorite Levain chocolate chip crush cookies using the recipe by @modern_honey. I’ve used her recipe since 2018, back when I was craving Levain cookies after a New York trip. Since then, I’ve been making these for my family and friends and have probably made these cookies over 25 times! The only thing I do differently is that during the baking process, I flatten the cookies a bit with a spatula so that they’re stackable later when they’ve cooled down! Don’t sleep on this airport ramen! I actually live 3 blocks from @unclerestaurant location in LoHi, and I’ve been eating there for years, but the lines were always insane! I first ate at the @denairport location next to gate A24 back in June just after they opened, and it was dead. Yesterday, I decided to pop in at the airport again and this time I had to actually wait for a seat! I went with the spicy garlic ramen this time around, and I demolished it! First time actually eating in @avantifandb and I had @berlinerhausdenver’s Berliner Doner! I was impressed with how much meat was in it, and I especially loved the pide bread they used. I just want to have it slathered in tzatziki sauce next time! 😋 I miss ordering these in Turkey and Germany! I need to figure out what I’m doing with this account honestly. Late to post as always 😅 Had the most wonderful and memorable birthday dinner in Valencia with @johanlassche at Restaurante Lienzo. I went to bed Tuesday night, so excited and looking forward to waking up Wednesday morning so I could head to @wildcrumb. And as soon as I stepped in, I remember I kept saying, “omggggg” as I looked at all of the pastries and bread that I could buy. I knew I wanted at least a croissant and a ham & cheese one (my standards when I’m visiting a new bakery). So I got those two, a loaf of sourdough bread, and then a vanilla chai pull-apart morning bun. I sat down, had my croissant, then decided to pick up some more goodies for the family (and get a box to put them in so that they don’t get crushed on the plane). The line was much longer now, but I didn’t care!! I grabbed a pack of vanilla sables, another croissant, a pain au chocolat, berry almond friand, and an almond croissant. I left this place a very happy gal! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on this food account. I decided to break my “no buying food on layovers” rule today to try the Hot Brown, known as Kentucky’s state sandwich. And yes, it’s my first time in Kentucky too! I’m so glad that I have a job that allows me to fly to Honolulu for a few hours just so I can have a dish I’ve been craving since I first had it in August 2019, during my first trip to Hawaii! I’ve literally been thinking about @giovannisshrimptruck almost every day for the last 5 years. This garlicky goodness is a dream come true! It’s not the original North Shore location where I went last time, but it’s so convenient being able to go to this one right above H-Mart! Ahhhh! I’m so happy to finally get my pho craving satisfied! Since I didn’t do a double shift today, and since it’s the first cold day Denver has had since last spring, it seemed like a good time to go! I ordered a medium pho ga (I tried to order the large but the Vietnamese man taking my order told me a medium should be good), and I got an order of their shrimp and pork spring rolls with peanut sauce. Needless to say, I demolished both dishes, and though I’m not usually a fan of peanut sauce, theirs was SO good. I miss living close to pho restaurants like when I was living in San Francisco - my neighborhood in Denver has no pho in walking distance, so I have to take multiple buses to get to Federal, where all the good pho is! Last weekend I had the opportunity to fly to DFW last minute to grab hotpot for dinner with @mimigoesglobal at @haidilao_us! So delicious! I loved that you could have up to 4 broth bases, each with its own price. Our one mistake was ordering the meat lover’s platter as it came with pork, beef… and lamb, which each of us tried one piece and promptly passed 😅 (we’re not big lamb eaters).
