Dozer. What a dog. He gave us nearly 13 years of the best armless hugs possible, tender hearted loyalty, and lots and lots of fur. Not to mention the one time (that we know of) he chased off a neighborhood burglar. He loved us endlessly and we reciprocated. The very best boy. ❤️ by @melilynnj

🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋 A hundred million butterflies
Dancing through my room,
Collecting all my happiness
And turning it to dust.

Their colors warm and vibrant
On their wings of wicked charm,
Causing me to suffocate
In their giant, gorgeous swarm.

Inhaling through my nostrils
Beckons ten or so,
While exhaling slowly
draws in so much more.

In a torturous moment
I close my burdened eyes,
and see glimpses of color
darting through the sky.

My feet are going numb
and the air is richly crisp,
I take a peek around
to see a frozen land of bliss.

My eyes may be bloodshot
And my nose might be ice,
but the loneliness and shivers
are a welcomed paradise.

This is my cat. His name is Charlie. He loves to play fetch, at all hours of the day. This morning he woke me up at 4 am to play. He likes dogs and people more than he likes other cats, including his own brother. Sometimes when I come home from work, he’s napping on the floor by the front door, awaiting my arrival. Obviously I had just the WORST time in Sydney. Iced coffee has ice cream in it here. I got to pet a kangaroo. I went into the koala exhibit and almost touched a koala’s butt with my head (it’s illegal to touch koalas though). I went on a tour of the Sydney Opera House and sat in a concert hall that’s basically the inside of a giant guitar. I walked under water. And all the people here have weird, gross accents. Blegh. Remind me to never visit Australia again. 🐨🇳🇿❤️ taken in Sydney, Australia by @melilynnj

Life has been hard in the past few weeks, but it’s important to look at the positives. I got contacts for the first time in months, bought some new clothes, and am 20 pounds lighter. My family is slowly healing, but there is laughter and beauty and love alive. ❤️ by @melilynnj
