It was such a pleasure to have Dr.Samuel Canning to come visit us in Malaysia and also help out with restoring the dress, it was so much fun and we learned a lot from it.

We are looking for experienced seamstresses to join our couture atelier.

**Requirements:**
- High-end fashion sewing expert
- Minimum **6–10 years of experience**
- Must be skilled, precise and able to work with couture garments

**Job Details:**
- Starting salary: **RM2,600**
*(Negotiable depending on experience)*
- EPF, SOCSO and LHDN provided
- Working hours: **45 hours per week, 5 days per week**
- Overtime may be required for urgent projects
- Workplace located near **Paramount LRT, Petaling Jaya**
- Hostel provided for outstation staff at **Taman Maluri, Cheras**, near AEON Maluri

KAMU : THE ART OF ERUPTION

The costume brings together an unconventional mix of materials and couture craftsmanship. Sequin mesh, metallic Lurex polyester and cotton form the foundation of the look, while approximately 5kg of charcoal introduces an organic, raw element inspired by volcanic rock. Sculptural volcanic forms are constructed using Styrofoam, latex glue and acrylic paint, transforming lightweight materials into dramatic three-dimensional textures.

The surface of the costume is further embellished with approximately 6,000 Swarovski elements, alongside a combination of glass and acrylic beads and sequins. These reflective details capture the visual sensation of molten minerals, glowing fragments and volcanic rock illuminated by fire. Movement plays an equally important role in the design. Approximately 80 metres of nylon fringe and 60 metres of glass bead fringe create a fluid, kinetic effect, echoing the movement of lava as it cascades down the volcanic landscape.

Every element is carefully layered to create a visual contrast between fire and earth, destruction and beauty, darkness and light. Known for her powerful vocal performances and visually striking stage presence, Aina Abdul provides the perfect canvas for Melinda Looi’s theatrical vision. The costume is designed not merely as clothing, but as an extension of Aina’s performance. Its exaggerated silhouette, sculptural textures and dramatic movement are intended to amplify her presence on stage while allowing the costume to evolve visually alongside the music.
