You will never hear me use the term “ex-husband”. Why? Because “ex” anything is usually associated with something bad. And I know our situation is different and oftentimes unheard of. I get it. And I could be mad or angry that the life we thought we were going to have didn’t work but I’ll tell you what, having this style of family, one of respect and honesty and support? I’d take baking pies so my former husband can win a competition against his staff versus an “ex” any day of the week. by @melissa_offill

I read a quote years ago that said “one day you’ll pick your children up for the last time and never realize it”. It haunts me all the time, reminding me that my once tiny humans no longer need me to physically carry them but instead emotionally support all they do. So tonight, on my daughters birthday, I picked up my 17 and 19 year old children to remind myself (and hopefully them) that I will always pick them up, no matter what. by @melissa_offill
