Looking for something constant & consistent to bring order to chaos, I found this post and felt a peace I needed this morning.

Every precious newborn needs five things in order to thrive: touch, connection, permanence, nurturance, and reassurance.

When I saw this post from James Dobson, I was reminded of these 5 essential things every newborn needs & the truth that we never outgrow our need for these things.

I woke up feeling the weight of the division in our world, it’s heart-breaking & too much for us to process, we’re not created to carry the weight of the world. I’m so grateful for the power of prayer & the help of others to release these burdens to God Our Father, a place where we hear from the One who loves us most, where we experience His gentle touch, connection, nurturance & reassurance.

If you’re feeling disoriented, confused & wondering how we got here, you’re not alone. If you’d like to take a prayer walk or join in a prayer call, I can help get you connected, where 2 or more are gathered in Jesus name, He is with us. He is our living hope💛

God, forgive us for our turning away from you. We see our inability to provide the care our world needs, we’ve taken things into our own hands and multiplied the pain.

Jesus & the hope of heaven.

Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬ ‭

Recognizing the troubles of this world is difficult. While the world rejoices and celebrates things that often cause pain, Jesus provides a way out & provides His power to heal. He is our ressurection hope. He invites us to walk with Him & talk with Him, the most life-giving, rewarding invitation💛

“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

In this season of advent, there is an invitation to be still and consider the wonders of God. When I consider His wonders, I see how shortsighted my prayers have been, often asking for what I want or think I need. As I get older, I see how He’s answered prayers in ways I didn’t know to ask. Often reminding me, it’s not getting what I think I want or need that’s the answer to prayer. It’s Him, He is our answer.

So many things compete for our attention, I’m easily distracted. This week, may we take time to be still, gaze on His beauty. May His presence bring light to the dark places and love to the heavy places, may our hearts be softened to share in the gift of His love & grace. by @melissa_pait

12 of many reasons I carry gratitude in my heart💛

1) Friends who are generous, joyful and always point me to Jesus
2) Friends who push me past my comfort zone & make videos to share our gratitude
3) Sons/brothers who drive long distances to show their love for their dad
4) Friends who celebrate the meaning of marriage
5) Friends who say yes to walking side by side
6) The sweet, tender love of my mother & daughter
7) My husband’s care that brought healing to his body and rest to his soul
8) Friends who share their children & challenge me to keep a child-like faith
9) Friends who challenge me to look past my fears
10) Sweet times of feasting and celebrating the gift of family
11) More treasured visits with family
12) Family that keeps growing & growing with a grandbaby on the way!!🙌

When I am weak, Jesus keeps providing His strength again and again, the lines have fallen in pleasant places, He keeps providing everything we need🙏 by @melissa_pait

It’s Sunday!! How good it is to celebrate, the more aware we are of our sin, the deeper our gratitude becomes…Jesus sets us free from the power of sin🕊️🙌 so we can come together, joining in thanksgiving, singing songs of praise, lifting our voices lifts our Spirits & heals our hearts. Where can we find sincere love? Only in Jesus who died so we can truly live, He is so worthy of our praise🙌

I’ve spent many years in the pain of feeling like I was on the outside looking in, Jesus walked me through and showed me His sincere love through the kindness & love of people He placed in my life to put their arms around me and say, I’m glad you’re here. When we welcome the presence of God into our hearts, He fills every void as He reveals His love that heals. Jesus said, come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest.

Like leaves on a tree, we are grafted into His family. Each playing a small yet significant part, collectively providing shade from the heat of the world, covering from the rain. He is the vine, we are the branches, in Him, we have everything we need. Everything depends on Him.

His love, His mercy, His kindness lead us to His heart where we can finally find the rest we so desperately need.

No more striving, earning, needing to perform, but learning to trust & receive with a grateful heart, everything He’s already given. He reveals, guides, comforts and loves more than we can imagine.

Each one is a treasure, a gift from God, it’s truly an honor to be present with one another.

When we know Jesus paid our debt & forgives our sin, we know each day is a new opportunity to show up forgiven & free to love & learn how to help one another. Where we are weak, He is strong, His strengths keep showing up as we keep coming to the table, being honest in our weakness, helpful with our strengths, praying the Lord continues to be a very present help as we learn to love and honor one another in new ways, day by day.

It might be the hardest & most rewarding investment, no awards for being right, but the reward of embracing pain for a love that deepens, strengthens, grows and multiplies over time.

All my words fall short, I’ve got nothing new…how do we express our gratitude?

With Hannah & Connor in town, they planned a trip to spend a few days in CO. It is always life-giving to spend time with the Smiths who help us experience God’s love as they so generously love & serve God and the people He places along their path. Your faithfulness & love ignite our imaginations to consider what’s possible when we push past our fears. How good it is to be together to share in God’s unfailing love.💛
