Out of the wilderness and into the peaks.

Year 5 of participating in 46 Climbs. What started as getting out for a hike to support a great cause has turned into taking a week off to live simply outside, hike some miles and raise some meaningful funds. Last year I surpassed my goal by $200 and this year it would be amazing to do that again. Thank you to everyone that has participated in the past in supporting my passion for mental health and the outdoors. Heres to more miles and more money raised! Link in bio to support

Perspective is everything but we don’t always have it. Assume positive intent and be kind. You never know what someone else is going through. #46climbs @46climbs by @melissagenthner

Its that time of year again, 46 Climbs 2025 kicks off today! Year 4 for me, between 8/29 - 9/7 I will be hiking to raise money for suicide awareness and prevention.

Last year, I kicked off the week with a solo trip to Baxter State Park, where I hiked North Brother (8.5 miles, 3,123 ft elevation gain), the Five Ponds Loop
(6.37 miles, 666 ft gain), and explored South Branch Pond by kayak. From there, I continued on to Franconia Notch where I hiked North and South Kinsman (9.7 miles, 3,212 ft gain).
In total, I hiked 24.57 miles, climbed 7,001 feet in elevation gain, and raised
$590 in support of mental health initiatives.

This year, I’ll begin again in Baxter State Park, with plans to hike Hamlin Peak and to backpack in to Russell Pond. From there, I’ll do another short backpacking trip then aim to summit three more 4,000-footers - likely in Maine.
My goal for 2025’s 46 Climbs is to push the miles, the gain and the donations just a little bit further.

Please consider donating, the link to my fundraising page is in my bio. Can’t donate? Share my link to help spread awareness! Thank you for supporting my passion for mental health and the outdoors! ⛰️⛰️⛰️#46climbs @46climbs @afspnational ❤️ by @melissagenthner
