If you’re ever wondering what I’m up to on a Friday night in Atlanta, there’s a good chance I’m at Praise Karaoke! 🙌🏾🎤

Praise Karaoke was the brainchild of my friend @chanellangeli_ and me. We wanted to create a space where women could come together, have fun, enjoy fellowship, and freely praise and worship God.

We are so thankful that our second event sold out, and we cannot wait to do it all over again.

The next Praise Karaoke is Friday, August 7. We’ll see you there! 💎 Thanks to @biblncntxt for the prayer and @melissamingram for her worship leadership and @caramelapplenpeach for her project management. @mimijonline did our makeup and got the new DJ @djline12 by @melissamingram

her first high school dance.

WE survived. 😜

in this season, God is calling Demetrius and me to be deeply intentional with our children. this world is loud, it’s cruel, and the influences and pressures vying for their attention are countless. but we’re learning that their big moments are always OUR big moments and their mistakes are simply our opportunities to grow together.

this weekend was a BIG moment and we showed up for it.

to all the parents in the trenches with us, parenting is hard but as I recently read, “it’s sacred and sacrificial. It’s changing and challenging. It’s kingdom work.”🙏🏾 don’t ever stop praying for your children.

Here’s a quick summary of my noon Bible study yesterday. Friday morning, I woke up with a very clear instruction from God.
It wasn’t complicated. It wasn’t poetic.

It was simple and direct:
Finish it.

Finish what you started.
Finish what you delayed.
Finish what’s been lingering because it felt uncomfortable, tedious, or inconvenient.

God impressed on my heart that unfinished things create unnecessary weight. Open loops drain our energy, our focus, and our peace. Some of us are asking God for new opportunities, fresh vision, and next-level blessings, while God is saying, close out what I already gave you.

Sometimes “finish” doesn’t mean perfect.
It means complete.
It means resolved.
It means no longer carrying it into the next season.

Whether it’s a construction project, closing out a client, completing an assignment, having a hard conversation, finishing paperwork, forgiving someone, or taking a step of obedience God already told you to take. Finish it so it no longer has power over you.

Philippians 1:6 (Everyday Language)
You can be confident of this: God didn’t start something in you just to leave it unfinished. What He began in your life, He fully intends to complete.

God is committed to finishing what He starts. But there is partnership involved. Completion requires our cooperation. Maturity looks like follow-through. Faith is not just believing. Faith is completing what obedience requires.

Nehemiah 6:15–16 (Everyday Language)
The wall was finally completed. And when the enemies heard about it, they lost their confidence because they realized this work was done with God’s help.

The opposition didn’t stop when Nehemiah started building. It stopped when the work was finished. Completion silenced the noise and confirmed that God was involved.

Finishing changes the atmosphere.
Finishing brings freedom.
Finishing makes room for what’s next.

My word for this year is finish, and today I offer that word to you.
