Sunday, June 29th at 3:10 a.m., the moment my world changed forever.
My father, John Revis, was the strongest man I have ever known. For 17 months, he fought stage 4 colon cancer with everything he had. And in the early hours of that morning, Jesus brought him home, peacefully, and into paradise.

My dad wasn’t just my parent, he was my best friend.

Dad,
I’ll never forget how excited we’d get to watch every Kentucky basketball game, how we’d cook together on Thanksgiving, or how much I loved listening to your stories about your past. Our tradition of watching Kentucky basketball together and Ohio State football will continue on, and that I know for certain. I can still hear your voice, your laugh when talking about the things you loved, or the way you could rattle off historical facts like they were printed on the back of your hand.

Even while battling the hardest fight of your life, you never stopped caring for us, providing for us, and lighting up our home. You were always putting others before yourself. I still laugh thinking about your wild childhood stories, or how animated you got during big sports moments. I miss your advice. I miss your great love for music, and being introduced to your generation of music. I miss the way you always had the answer, whether it was about history, the news, or just life.

You taught me to be passionate for the things I stand for, strength, resilience, and the importance of family.
You gave me thick skin for the moments life doesn’t go my way, and a soft heart for the ones I love.

I miss you more than words can hold. But I carry you with me, always, and I promise I’ll make you proud.
