Hi! ❤️I’m Mel and welcome to my little corner of bookstagram ❤️ I’m excited to have a space just for sharing what I’m reading and enjoying after being a long time lurker ✨stick around if you love your public library, queer books, keeping your kindle on airplane mode, and listening to audiobooks while you’re on the clock ✨ by @mell_read

❤️October Hopefuls❤️ I’ve been saving some reads just for this season so the list is bountiful! As a horror & paranormal romance lover October is such a sweet spot for my mood reading ❤️ I’m planning on reading from this list & my personal curriculum reading list this month, so I’m pretty likely to listen to a lot of these & save my eyeball reading time for my female gothic picks❤️ by @mell_read

❤️September Highlights❤️ winding down summer reads & slipping into some fall reads & some highly anticipated sapphic reads ❤️ Got to see Sarah Gailey talk about one of my favorite books & see Sarah Estep celebrating her trad release, so 10/10 month for authors I love named Sarah ❤️❤️ Really can’t ask for more than a month of great events & great reads ❤️ by @mell_read

❤️ Introducing my fall/winter personal curriculum ❤️ I’ve been working on this for a bit, so I’m very excited to share it & start reading! I love a gothic read & a deep dive, especially in the fall, so this is the best of both worlds❤️ I’ve really enjoyed the Female Gothic books I have read so far, so this was a pretty easy pick for a focus. Honestly only a few of these weren’t already on my priority TBR ❤️This is by no way exhaustive & I know I’m missing some staples, but I’m a bit more interested in variety over hitting all the classics❤️ I’m excited to spend some time with these & have a nice cozy fall full of atmospheric dread & domestic hellscapes ❤️ by @mell_read

❤️ It’s never too late to read something great for sapphic September ❤️ These are some of my favs from the past year that I really can’t recommend enough if you are looking for something to read now or literally anytime of the year ❤️ There’s something for everyone, but also some of these might not be for you so check the TW ❤️❤️ by @mell_read

❤️ September hopefuls & my Sapphic September TBR ❤️ I picked up a few of these books just for this during Bookstore Romance Day so I’m very excited to get to them ❤️Trying to read mostly sapphic & book club books this month but have some library holds I didn’t get to in August to polish off. Over ambitious as always, but I’m a mood reader & this is what’s on the menu this month ❤️ by @mell_read

❤️ August was booked & busy ❤️ I went to some really great events & read some great books ❤️ I am finishing off some summer reading, but have had a lot of fun reading some things I might not have picked up otherwise ❤️ I also got to a good chunk of my WIT month TBR & enjoyed all of them! I will definitely be putting Olga Ravn on my auto buy list because both of her books I read this month were a delight ❤️ I’m sad to see my summer reading bingo challenges winding down, but I’m excited for what I’m putting together to focus on next ❤️ by @mell_read

❤️ WIT month recs & some books on my TBR ❤️ I love reading translated works & have been trying to read from more countries this year since starting to track what I’m reading more closely ❤️ I especially love seeing how some of my favorite genres differ from different places ❤️ I added a lot of books that are still on my TBR, so if there’s anything you loved that I haven’t read yet let me know ❤️ by @mell_read

❤️ August hopefuls ❤️ a little bit of everything for Women in Translation month, book clubs, & to polish off some bingo boards ❤️ Over ambitious as always, but it’s more a shelf to pick from than a plan to read them all, so the more the merrier ❤️ I’m very excited for another A Gentleman’s Gentleman book club! I love this book so I’m happy for any excuse to re-read it ❤️ by @mell_read

❤️ July favs ❤️ had a great month of reads & re-reads ❤️ I love having the excuse of book bingos to get to some books I’ve been wanting to for a bit & finding new books I love while getting some harder squares checked off ❤️ also realized afterwards that all my favorite re-reads this month are telling of my weakness for clinch covers & I love it❤️ by @mell_read

❤️June was busy in the best way ❤️ Lots of reading & one of my favorite events of the year ❤️Portland Book Week❤️ We are just so lucky to have so many great local bookstores, I loved going to lots of new to me places ❤️ This year I also tried to read all queer for June (aside from library books I already had & an arc) & as someone who reads mostly queer books anyways it was fun to just read lots of books from my TBR ❤️ Now to start reading some of my PBW pickups❤️❤️❤️ by @mell_read
