If you could use a friend that reminds you healing doesn’t have to be a full-time job and you are allowed to slow down - I really hope you will follow along at @mellowmira 💞💞💞

Getting on the yoga mat was on my to-do list today.

But when I woke up, I had such a strong resistance to doing yoga. My body felt full of irritation and it was difficult to be still.

The sun was shining and all I wanted was to go outside.

But… “get on the yoga mat” was on my to-do list.

So I pulled out my yoga mat, only to notice that the floor was dusty… so naturally, I had to clean that first.

And then I got hungry, so I had to eat something first.

And somehow I just kept procrastinating getting on the mat😅

When I finally did, it still didn’t feel right.

So I let it go and went for a walk instead.

And the minute I got into nature and started moving my body in a different way, I could feel myself settle.

It was such a good reminder that there isn’t one wellness practice that will always make you feel better.

What feels supportive can depend on what state your nervous system is in that day.

I’m going to talk more about this soon, because I think learning to understand what your body is asking for can completely change the way you approach healing🌻

So make sure to follow along at @mellowmira - your support means the world to me!

Sometimes I think we forget that healing isn’t supposed to be another thing we have to be perfect at🌻

There is so much information out there about what you should eat, what supplements you should take, how you should move, which lab tests to take and what you should be doing to support every little system in your body.

And if you’re anything like me, it can be very easy to turn all of that information into a never-ending project of trying to fix yourself.

But maybe you don’t need more information right now. Maybe you need a little less pressure.

Because your body is doing a lot of healing and regulating without you consciously trying to make it happen - exspecially when you’re in rest and digest.

So here’s your reminder, that you are allowed to take a break from trying to heal🥹❤️

Don’t underestimate the healing powers of creating something with your hands, drinking tea, chatting with a friend and simply being in the moment🥰🫖🧶

Please tell me I’m not the only one who spirals when symptoms flare up😅

Suddenly, I’m trying to figure out what caused it, researching new root causes, ordering more tests and wondering what else I should be doing to feel better.

And while I think it’s completely normal to want answers when you’re not feeling your best, I’ve also noticed how stressful it can be to constantly try to figure out why something is happening and what I need to do to fix it.

Sometimes, the search for answers becomes another source of stress in itself.

I’m learning that I don’t always need to do more when my symptoms flare up. Sometimes, the most supportive thing I can do is simplify things, take a step back and ask myself: What would support me most right now?

Maybe it’s rest, a proper meal, some fresh air or simply giving myself permission not to figure everything out today💛💛💛

Healing isn’t linear, and building capacity isn’t either.

Some days, you’ll feel ready to do more. Other days, you might need to take a step back.

Both are part of the process💛

If you’re on a similar journey, please say hi, or make sure you follow me at @mellowmira✨ I would love to connect!

The more I make a habit of looking for beautiful things, the more I seem to find🌞🍁✨

And there’s actually some pretty cool research showing that moments of wonder and awe sends signals of safety to the nervous system linking it to lower stress.

So here’s your sign to get outside in the beautiful autumn-weather today🤎

For me, healing doesn’t mean going back to the way I used to live. It means getting closer to creating my dream life!💗

I’ve come to realise how much I love slow mornings, spending time in nature and allowing myself to just be without feeling like I always need to be productive.

And as my health continues to improve, I want to hold on to these parts of my “healing lifestyle” for good🥰🦋

Nettle infusion is one of my favourite ways to get extra minerals. It naturally contains calcium, magnesium, potassium and iron, alongside other nutrients💚

How I make it:

30 g dried nettle
1 litre boiling water

Pour the boiling water over the nettles and let them steep for at least 15 minutes or even overnight.

I love making a big batch in the evening, letting it cool and placing it in the fridge overnight so I have a mineral-rich infusion ready to sip on the next day🤗

Have you tried nettle infusion before?🫶🏼

I was so tired today, day 2 of my period, and I could have pushed trough to keep productive. However I know that’s not benefiting me in the long run…

Slowing down, especially during my period, has been a game changer for my overall health and hormonal balance🤎

So here’s your reminder that sometimes rest is the most productive thing we can do🍂🍁

Wellness gadgets are cool, and I genuinely love my red light device, especially during the darker months.

But I also think it’s worth remembering that these tools aren’t the only way to support your health.

Of course, a sunset or bonfire isn’t the same as sitting in front of a red light panel. A panel is designed to deliver specific wavelengths at a specific intensity, which is exactly why these devices can be such a useful support tool.

But you could spend your evening sitting in front of a red light panel… or you could watch the sunset with friends or family and end up around a bonfire🥰🌅🔥

And maybe the love, laughter and connection gives you something a device never could.

For years, migraine made my world so small. I was constantly thinking about what might trigger my symptoms, and I started avoiding things because I was scared of feeling worse.

But I so badly wanted to feel more free. I wanted to be able to say yes to life again, even if I couldn’t guarantee that I would feel good.

EFT tapping (with @theresapiela) became one of the tools that helped me change my relationship with my symptoms and the fear around them.

Slowly, I started challenging myself to do more of the things I loved, in amounts that felt a little scary but still doable🦋✨✨

And I started noticing how much those little moments of joy mattered. Going for a swim, watching the sunset, seeing friends and family, being outside… things that made me feel like myself again.

It wasn’t about ignoring my symptoms or pushing through no matter what. It was about learning that I could take care of my body while also making room for the life I wanted to live.

The more I stopped organising my life around my symptoms, the less power they seemed to have over me.

And because I wasn’t constantly body checking, worrying about what might happen or waiting for the next migraine, I felt safer doing things again. And that shift in the nervous system became an important part of my healing too🥰🐚

I hope that by sharing my story, I can bring you hope that feeling more free in your body again is a possibility!
