So happy with this fresh make! I love the fit and style of a @helens__closet Reynolds top I made recently. I wanted an easy breezy pullover dress for those sticky summer days when you don’t want anything to touch you. So I cut Reynolds off at the empire waist and added a lightly gathered a line skirt with a deep ruffle hem. The extra volume adds a little more airflow for hot days. The empire line adds a smidge of shape but it’s still comfortably loose. Fabric is a light cotton lawn block print from @blackbirdfabrics and is a joy to wear. by @mellysdresses

Quick snapshots from our anniversary trip to Vienna where we were married 25 years ago. #memademay is the busiest time of year I don’t usually participate much. (Why not me made January or August? I’m sure it’s been pointed out before that whoever decided on May doesn’t have children) but since we’re away from the usual chaos I was able to capture this #mbrsapphire dress I made last summer in a creamy linen from @stonemountainfabric and an old simplicity pattern I finished literally the day before we flew in Liberty Tana lawn. Also wearing in both photos two different matching sets of the @mmadalynne #fionabra and @cashmerette #radcliff by @mellysdresses

Well it’s a rainy and sickly birthday weekend here, so festivities got postponed. But at least the dress got finished! This is @seamwork #seamworkleighanne in a fluid viscose linen blend from @corefabrics with lace appliqué. Hopefully we’ll have sunshine on the new party date! by @mellysdresses

More Christmas break sewing. This is the new Isla kit from @mmadalynne slightly modified. it’s really gorgeous *and* comfortable. Beautifully shows off stretch galloon lace. I recommend sizing up in the panties. by @mellysdresses
