My great grandfather left Lebanon for opportunity and ended up in Waco,Tx. To think of how one decision made generations ago brought us here. Beyond blessed that our cousin found us 10 years ago and now we have been reunited with family and our motherland. No words for how it feels when we are there. I wish for everyone to find their roots and family tree.
Remember these images, not what the media tries to portray. The hospitality and beauty of this country are rare and unique. Can’t wait to see you again 🇱🇧
Ps. We had the necklace hand made while there. It is our family name, nemmer-corbani, in Arabic. taken in Lebanon by @melnemmer

9 weeks ago my boy Sam was diagnosed with what I was told was the most aggressive cancer in dogs, osteosarcoma. Bone cancer in his back left ankle. My local vet said amputation and chemo were the only treatment. Without it,she said he had days to weeks to live and it would ultimately spread to his lungs. Amputation was not an option as he has bad arthritis in his rear right leg. I even talked to an oncologist about radiation treatment but I decided I wouldn’t put him through anything I wouldn’t put myself through.

I immediately started looking for a vet who practices “outside the box” and happened upon one in Plano who could see him within a few days. Fast forward 9 weeks and my boy is doing fantastic! The tumor has not grown and maybe even shrinking a bit. He went from times when he could hardly put weight on it to now running around and playing and acting like a puppy again. He made it to his 11th bday last month which I was not expecting.

Dr. Shawn did extensive bloodwork and gave me a list of all the supplements he recommended. I put Sam on all 10 of them, as well as Ivermectin and fendbendozol. It took a few weeks to see any change, but after that he has continually felt better day after day. There was no guarantee but I was optimistic this treatment would help him in some way. I never imagined it would help give him the quality of life he is living.

I don’t know how long this will last, if it will continue or possibly cure him. But no matter what, it has given me quality time with him that I would not have had if I had not trusted my gut and found a vet that was more on the holistic side. I have heard so many stories of what ivermectin has done for people with cancer, I knew it was worth a try with him. I will be forever thankful I did.

He’s my best boy and deserves it. by @melnemmer

Extraordinary woman, extraordinary life. Never met a stranger. The glass was always half full. You better never talk poorly about someone she loved. Always the last to leave the party. Stubborn. Spoiled. Selfless. Generous. Resilient. Classy. Sassy. Inspiration.
The best Mother and Mimi.

Janice Nemmer, 78, of Waco, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Services will be at 1pm, Monday August 4, 2025 at St. Louis Catholic Church.

Janice was born July 17, 1947 in Waco, TX to James “Jimmy” and Mae Breedlove. On August 26, 1965, she married the love of her life, Joe Nemmer. They quickly started their family and had 2 children, Jody and Melissa. Janice poured her heart into creating a warm, welcoming home. She found her greatest joy and purpose in being a mother and Mimi, roles she cherished deeply, fulfilling them with grace, dedication, and unwavering love. She found community in St. Louis parish and school, and Reicher High School, where she was actively involved during both her children’s and grandchildren’s time throughout. Her support and sacrifice helped lay the foundation for Nemmer Electric, a dream shared with her husband and nurtured through her devotion at home.

She had a true gift for celebration and never needed an excuse to throw a party. Family and friends will forever cherish the memories made around her table and under her roof- no one threw a party like Janice.

Even after her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis 20 years ago, she remained optimistic and vibrant, choosing to continue living life to its fullest every day. She is an inspiration to many.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years and her parents.

Survivors include her son, Jody; daughter, Melissa; and granddaughters, Analysa Nemmer, Maelyn Colling, and Charley Brewton.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Hollingsworth, George Lindsey, Greg Holland, Terri Smith, Kenny Smith, Dawson Colling, AJ Morales, and Frich Joanis.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Fransisca, Carla, Elisabeth, and Rachel, who took special care of her while she remained at home; as well as her nurse Hillary and all the staff at St. Catherines and the Providence hospice team that cared for her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bishop Louis Reicher, 2102 N 23rd St, Waco, TX 76708 or Fuzzy Friends Rescue, 6321 Airport Rd, Waco TX 76708. by @melnemmer
