A month ago, I experienced the biggest scare of my life. Today, I’m blessed to celebrate 1 month of life with my daughter Arianna. 💝 A month ago, my life changed in a way I never could’ve imagined. Arianna was born at home in the shower while I was at work, and my wife and my 3-year-old daughter were home. I received a phone call from my little girl saying, “Papi, my sister is here.” At first, I thought she was playing, but when I realized how serious she was, everything changed. I immediately called 911 and rushed home. When I arrived, the ambulance was already outside, and they were preparing to get inside. My 3-year-old, being the smart little girl she is, remembered what she was taught about not opening the door for strangers. 😂💖 Thankfully, I arrived just in time to let the paramedics in. What followed was one of the hardest experiences our family has ever faced. Arianna spent days at Broward Health while doctors and nurses monitored her blood platelets, which kept going up and down. Eventually, she was transferred to the NICU at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where they continued running tests and monitoring her condition. As a father, watching your newborn go through something like that is a feeling I wouldn’t wish on anybody. There were questions, fear, uncertainty, and moments when all we could do was pray and trust God. But GOD! Through His grace, faith, and power, Arianna’s platelet count finally rose to a healthy level, the bleeding stopped, and after everything our little girl went through, we were finally discharged and able to bring her home. The same home where she was born became the place we returned to with our healthy baby girl. 💝 This past month taught me that life can change in seconds, that we are never truly in control of everything, and that sometimes all you can do is put your faith in GOD and keep believing even when you’re scared. Arianna, you have no idea how much your life means to me already. You came into this world in a way we’ll never forget, and your first month has given us a testimony we will carry forever.
