A birthday lasts a day. The way you deserve to be celebrated lasts far longer. 🤍

A few frames from her birthday session—something to look back on, something to treasure, something that says, “This was me, right here, at this chapter.”

Which frame would you put on your wall? ✨

Before you notice the cut, you notice the cloth.

Black and white, with rows of symbols and geometric forms that invite a closer look. Among them is Gye Nyame, often translated as “except God,” an Adinkra symbol expressing the supremacy of God. A familiar presence in Ghanaian visual culture, carrying meaning even when it becomes part of an everyday wardrobe.

Adinkra belongs to a long Akan tradition of communicating ideas through symbols. Its motifs carry proverbs, beliefs and observations about life. Traditionally, artisans printed them onto cloth using carved calabash stamps. Surviving examples date to the early nineteenth century—a reminder that this relationship between clothing and meaning has a history far beyond the photograph.

Here, that visual language takes on a contemporary shape.

The long, open silhouette gives the pattern room to run. Across the back, you see its repetition clearly; in motion, the cloth opens to reveal a dark interior. Worn over a white shirt, black tie and wide-leg trousers, the piece brings movement to an otherwise structured look.

What interests me as a photographer is how those decisions change the frame. The garment has presence when she stands still, then takes on a different character as she turns, sits or stretches out her arms. There is enough detail to hold your attention and enough ease to let her personality come through.

That is where you begin to appreciate the designer’s eye: in the proportion, the way the fabric falls, and the space given to the print. A cloth with such a distinctive pattern asks for thoughtful handling. Here, the shape allows us to enjoy both the symbols and the person wearing them.

A familiar fabric, seen with fresh attention.

Some memories deserve more than a place in your camera roll.

For this graduation photography campaign, I drew inspiration from the nostalgia of traditional photo albums — the kind that preserved our childhood, milestones, and the moments that shaped us.

The concept follows a journey through different chapters: childhood, matriculation, and finally, graduation — bringing every defining moment together in one visual story.

Because after all the years, growth, and memories…

Your graduation deserves an album. 📖🎓

Medicine taught me to look closely. Photography taught me to see.

I’m a doctor and a photographer, still proving to myself that nothing is impossible. Lately, I’ve been drawn to art that says more with less—simple, but sophisticated. Inspired by @edos_artistry , this is my own interpretation.

I know many creatives live two professional lives. What do you do when the camera is down?
