MAKING “ART” KEEPS ME “SANE”. Hahahahahaha. I’m deadly serious. by @melociityartz
Playlist, archive and show notes: Mel was my guest this morning. We talked autumn gardening tips, WMPG events and Halloween. Lynda Mandolyn joined us on the phone around 8 o’clock to talk about her New Halloween single and her Julee Cruise themed Halloween show in Kittery. The Damned playing Boston Friday. Listen now via the archive link in my bio. Next week I’ll have an interview with British artist, Liz Lawrence. #wmpg #amella #morningbeat #annella by @melociityartz
I used to think I wasn’t engaged in artistic endeavor during my “on” season; the one where I work my body to the point of exhaustion and have nothing left in the proverbial tank for “art”; and then at some@point I realized certain aspects of my creative being were being sated by this endeavor I call my paid “work”—textures and shapes and COLORS; The unending and constant change I dance with daily…all the frustrations and triumphs of@experimentation with materials; what is within my control and what is not and how do I engage with that. This is my art 7 months out of the year. I wish I made enough scratch to engage with the other forms art exclusively (without having to “work”) the other@5 months of the year. Maybe someday. by @melociityartz
Playing with Procreate by @melociityartz
Don’t like the painting? Take it apart and make something new. F*cling around and finding out. by @melociityartz
Wild dog. #procreate 2025 by @melociityartz
Messing around on procreate; thanks to a friend encouraging me. Still struggling terrifically with depth but maybe that’s just not what I need to worry about. Support your pals and encourage their curiosities. You may make a real difference to someone. Xoxo by @melociityartz
Some old; Some new. Long periods in between. Where does it come from and where does it go? Eternal questions, really. 🙏 by @melociityartz
Six weeks without my boy and I … just don’t know. Life…is changing and I miss him with every cell in my body. by @melociityartz
Here I am just desperately trying; desperately trying to make sense of everything; Everything that can’t be made sense of. Like death and love and grief and pain. And love and love and love and love and on and on and on it goes. And the ability to make marks on paper of blasts of energy with colored substances housed in a thin wood cylinder?? It sands down the roughy edges; like all of you do with your love. Brody Shapiro forever— This illustration of him started long long ago and picked up again last week…he is ongoing, my love for him is endless. July 1 2012 - March 21 2025 💔❤️‍🩹❤️‍🔥 by @melociityartz
