Pierced. Crushed. Forsaken. Bore the wrath of God. All these things did my Savior do for me and for you who trust that His work alone paid the price that the law demands. Jesus went from all the glories of heaven, crowned in might and splendor, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, to the cross, being crushed for our iniquities, pierced for our transgressions, and upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace. It was not His own sin that He paid for, for He had none.

It was my sin. It was the sin of all who place their faith and trust in Christ that He died to make atonement for. He did not have to, yet He did. Why? Because He LOVED us. It was His love for Adam’s fallen race that kept Him there (see Romans 5:8, 1 John 3:1).

I had the privilege collaborating with Daniel Ekberg (someone I just so happen to be dating 😉) in composing the music for this song, and we wanted to share in light of Easter weekend. So, I present to you, “Cross and Crown”.

Our prayer is that as you listen, your heart is drawn to this King of glory, who suffered the cross so that we could cast our crowns back at His feet one day in glory when we will say with the throng of the redeemed, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” (Rev. 5:12)

Though not fully, the Lord has been kind to bring some healing to my voice, and He’s provided enough to write, practice and record this for you! Thank you to all who have been praying for me! Soli Deo Gloria!
