OUR BOYS ARE COMING (men but you get it)

To the Iranian Men’s National Team,

I couldn’t be more proud of what you’ve accomplished by securing your place at the World Cup. Beyond the victories and the results, you’ve given millions of Iranians something even more meaningful: HOPE.

There will ALWAYS be people who argue over symbols, FLAGS (shiro khorshid), and what represents Iran. But the truth is that the lion isn’t just on a flag—it lives in the hearts of those who carry the spirit of Iran with courage, dignity, and pride. And that spirit is reflected in each of you who pour the life and souls into this game. You guys ARE our SHIRO KHORSHID.

Year after year, you face challenges that many teams never have to endure, yet you continue to rise above them with resilience, class, and grace. That is the mark of true champions. That is the mark of true Iranians. (Such as JERSEYGATE, now this)

No matter where you play, know that you carry an entire nation with you or at least yours truly (but I’m not the only one). While politics may create obstacles, they can never diminish the admiration and support people have for you gentlemen and @teammellifootball. I have no doubt that wherever the World Cup takes you, you’ll be welcomed by those who are human enough to recognize your talent, determination, and character.

Thank you for making us proud. Thank you for reminding the world who Iran is and why we are so PRIDEFUL in being #Iranians aka #Persians.

Goodnight to our guardian angels.

Perhaps the #stars have #twinkled differently ever since—each one carrying the light of a #soul taken too soon. ✨

And among them shine the brave souls who ran toward the unimaginable while others ran to safety—firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and first responders who answered fear with #courage and gave everything for strangers.

We honor their sacrifice. We carry their names. And we will never forget the heroes who climbed toward heaven so others could make it home.

25 years later, the weight of that day has not diminished.

343 members of the #FDNY ran toward the fire while others were running from it. They chose courage over fear, duty over self, and gave their lives so that strangers might have the chance to live.

We remember them. We remember every life taken on September 11, 2001. We remember the families who carried the unimaginable forward, and a nation forever changed.
Some sacrifices are too profound for time to soften.

✨✨✨Happy heavenly birthday, Matthew Perry — Chandler Bing, or, as the TV Guide once famously addressed him, Ms. Chanandler Bong. ✨✨✨

I know you hoped to be remembered not simply as Chandler, but as Matthew Perry — someone who used his own struggles to be of service to others, to help people feel less alone, and to change lives. And you did.

✨But I hope you also knew that, for so many of us, those two legacies were never entirely separate. ✨

Friends brought comfort during moments when life felt anything but comfortable, and Chandler’s humor became a kind of refuge. For me, your character was more than someone who made me laugh. He brought levity when I needed it, familiarity when I needed comfort, and joy during chapters of my life that were not always easy.

I know I’m far from the only person who can say that.
So while you may have wanted the world to remember Matthew Perry beyond Chandler Bing, I hope you knew this too: you, yourself, were always present in what Chandler gave us. Your wit, your timing, your vulnerability, your humanity.
You wanted your life to mean something beyond a television show.

It did.

And somehow, the television show meant something because of you. 🤍

There are no adequate words when you lose a loved one.

“The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.” 👨‍✈️✈️ (@saminehf) We all have two lives. The second begins when we realize we only have one. (Life is short- show your affection to eachother, laugh insanely (like @masoudrfathi and Amoo Abbas when they see each other @natashafathi, love truly (the way we love each other but actually make time), forgive quickly (there are exceptions), and NEVER regret anything that made you smile. (I truly believe everyone in the family has a moment in their life with Amoo and with one another that makes us smile).
