I'm am SO lucky!!!

The extraordinarily talented @elsje154kleurt colored in one of the drawings from my book!!!

I've been following her for a while and I have always LOVED her art so much!!

The book was designed for alcohol markers (and it's printed on Amazon paper) so I didn't expect that I would be able to collaborate with her, since she specializes in colored pencils. But she wanted to color in my squirrel!! And it's absolutely gorgeous!! 😍😍😍

Thank you so much @elsje154kleurt and @bontocoloring for making my dreams come true this week. Seeing my drawings come to life is everything I ever wanted!!

I'm so lucky!! I did a buddy color with the incredibly talented @bontocoloring. She did the first one and I did the second. Here you can see the differences between an expert colorist and a beginner. Haha! Her details are so gorgeous, and I absolutely love the forest background!

Thank you so much!!!

One reason why I love coloring mandalas is because they aren't "supposed to" look like anything in particular. I'm not worried about whether my clouds look fluffy enough, or how to blend the night sky. There's no right answer here! Just relax and empty your mind...

This page marked my first time running out of ink with an Ohuhu marker!! My tahitian blue is gone! 😭

How do you guys cope with this? In an ideal world, I'd have two full sets of markers (one for backup), and buy individual markers as needed. But for now, I'll just have to watch my precious markers leave me, one by one. 😢

Haha on a lighter note, I had fun coloring this page!!

I tried to make this mandala look like jewelry. Gold, bronze, rubies and gemstones! I think it came out pretty good! I used acrylic markers for the lines and alcohol markers for the rest.

Not gonna lie, this is pretty unorthodox, but I was compelled to follow my heart and experiment with the colors.

I've been drawing forever but I'm still relatively new to coloring. It's amazing how difficult color choices can be!! And I love going with proven color palettes, but I also love trying out completely random combinations. I feel like I don't have a trained 'eye' for making my own color choices, but I'm sure it just takes practice, like any other skill!

I studied music in college, and my composition professor had this great analogy of letting the dirty tap water run until it came out clean. This is how the creative process works. You gotta try a lot of things, even things that you don't like, to find out what you do like!

The page is from my hand-drawn coloring book, 'Nature, Flowers and Mandalas' by Melody MacBloom.

Love y'all!! <3
