🦄 A Unicorn in the World of Hyperscale Mission Critical Data Centers 🦄
Who would’ve thought this 1st Gen Caribbean American girl from Brooklyn would one day help build data centers for Meta, Google, Microsoft, AND AWS?!

My mentor @shedoeverything Tonya Hicks always tells me: “Embrace the love, sis!” So I’m doing just that 💕.
I love what I do, and every award, every stage, every opportunity reminds me it’s not just about me — it’s about US. The community, the journey, and the future we’re building together.

Gas pedal down ⛽️🏎️💨 … we’re just getting started. 🚀 BIG MEL… Not the Little One! STILL ON…. HAPPY MONDAY!!

Houston was the debut.

At Innovatrix International’s 2nd Constructing Mega Facilities Summit, I introduced my Time-to-Capacity™ model—a new way of looking at infrastructure delivery through the metric that matters most:

How quickly can we turn land, power and capital into usable capacity?

LAND → POWER → DESIGN → BUILD → COMMISSION → CONNECT → RACK → CAPACITY

AI is forcing us to rethink how we design, build and deliver infrastructure at scale.

The future isn’t simply about building data centers faster.

It’s about delivering capacity faster.

I’m taking the stage at the 2nd Constructing Mega Facilities Summit to present:

“From Dirt to Data: Building Mega Facilities at Technology Speed.”

This conversation goes beyond faster construction. I’m introducing a new way to think about Time-to-Capacity™—aligning planning, power, design, construction, commissioning, and technology deployment around the metric that matters: how quickly usable capacity reaches the business.

Mega facilities require mega thinking. The old delivery model won’t meet the speed of AI infrastructure.

I’m excited to finally share a major career milestone.

I’ve joined Oracle as Senior Director, Data Center Infrastructure Delivery, where I’ll be focused on the infrastructure required to support the next generation of cloud and AI at scale.

My career has evolved from building facilities, to delivering hyperscale data centers, to now thinking more broadly about how we move from site selection and construction all the way through power, network, infrastructure and capacity deployment. The challenge is no longer simply building faster. It is aligning every dependency so usable capacity comes online faster.

And I couldn’t think of a better way to begin this chapter than with my first speaking engagement in my new role.

On September 23–24, I’ll be in Houston speaking at the 2nd Constructing Mega Facilities Summit: Advances in Planning, Design and Engineering.

My session:

“From Dirt to Data: Building Mega Facilities at Technology Speed”

I’ll be sharing my perspective on what it takes to deliver increasingly complex infrastructure at the speed AI demands and why construction, power, network deployment, technology and operational readiness can no longer be treated as separate workstreams.

A new role. A bigger challenge. And an opportunity to help shape how the next generation of digital infrastructure gets built.

I’m ready for it! I EARNED THIS!!!

Y’all… I’m walking in purpose 🙌🏽

Construction and Tech have taken me on a journey I never could’ve imagined. I had the honor of being the FIRST Black woman in the U.S. to build a Microsoft data center—right here in Atlanta. That wasn’t just a job… that was legacy work. That was us in rooms where we’ve never been seen before.

✨ But the journey doesn’t stop there…

I’m now stepping into a role that’s even bigger—literally. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to lead the construction of Amazon’s largest data center—a $11 BILLION AI-powered campus in New Carlisle, Indiana.

As highlighted in the New York Times, this isn’t your average build. This is where generative AI, machine learning, and automation will live and breathe. This is the kind of build that will shape the future of technology—and I’m proud to say I’m leading from the front.

This isn’t just about tech. This is about Black excellence. This is about us in high places, managing billion-dollar projects, hiring teams, and setting the bar for what leadership looks like.

To my people—especially Black women—you belong here. Whether it’s in boots or in boardrooms, we’re out here building the future.

Thank you to every ancestor who made room for me. And to every young sister coming up behind me—I got you.

Let’s keep making history. 💪🏽🛠️
