POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Today, my heart feels heavier than words can express as my great aunt Bev went into the arms of Jesus. She was more than just a great aunt she was a guiding light, a steady source of love, and someone whose presence brought comfort no matter what was going on. She had a way of showing love that was gentle but incredibly powerful. Whether it was through her warm hugs, her thoughtful advice, or simply her ability to sit and listen, she made people feel valued and cared for. She carried so much wisdom, yet wore it humbly. Her strength showed in quiet, meaningful ways in her kindness, her generosity, and her endless patience. She never forgot anyone’s birthday, holiday, or special event. She always found time to send a card, often with a $2 bill and a scratch off tucked inside a small gesture that revealed the huge heart she had. She lived an independent life, passing away at 95 without ever marrying or having children, and she never wanted anyone to worry about her. She was truly one of my favorite people on this earth. When I was away at school, I made sure to send her cards every couple of weeks just to check on her. Our memories together are precious, joyful, and ones I will carry with me always. In the last few years, I’ve learned a lot about who I am when grief enters my life. Healing looks different with each loss, and the 18th of every month now holds a deeper meaning for me. On January 18th, 2023, I lost my grandma. And now, on November 18th, 2025, I’ve lost my great aunt. I truly believe these dates are connected for a reason, and that she held on as long as she did with purpose. My family is better because she was in it. The stories she shared, and the love she poured into all of us will continue to live on. I am grateful for every moment every laugh, every lesson, and every memory we created together. None of it will ever fade. Rest peacefully, Aunt Bev. Thank you for everything you gave, everything you taught, and everything you were. You will forever be loved, forever remembered, and deeply missed. You’re back with your favorite people in heaven now. I hope you gave Grandma a hug from me. My love for you will never fade💜 by @melsch888

A poem for 2025-

What a year you were.
You asked more of me than I knew how to give,
and there were times I truly didn’t know
if I would make it through.

I am so glad this year is coming to an end.
I don’t ever plan on looking back on 2025
and calling it a good year.
I truly disliked you—
but if you taught me one thing,
it was love.

Love carried me through my darkest days,
because even when I felt empty,
I knew I loved others,
and I knew others loved me.

I met many versions of myself this year
that I never knew existed,
and I met far too many people
I could have lived without.

I learned how to grieve in a different way—
mourning people who are still alive
but no longer present in my life.
And then there were the ones I lost
without permission,
taken too quickly,
sent to heaven before I was ready
to let them go.

Grief isn’t just a feeling—
it shows up in grocery stores,
on what should be your best day ever,
while driving alone in the car,
while sitting in class,
and in so many unexpected places.

But there were also good days,
and for those, I am thankful—
days where laughter and happiness
became my medicine.

There were days I begged and prayed for a break,
but somehow, I kept going.
Even when I didn’t feel brave,
even when I didn’t feel strong,
2025 taught me that survival can be quiet.

Maybe the fact that I’m still standing
is proof that I am stronger
than I ever believed I could be.

Goodbye, 2025.
You broke me.
You healed me.
You changed me forever.

And even though you hurt me,
I will carry your lessons with me—
because I survived you. by @melsch888

Still not over this sweet sweet day🥹

Isabelles and Jakes love is one I aspire to have one day. In December Jake told me he was gonna propose to Izzy and I was SO excited. It’s been such an amazing journey watching these 2 grow into such beautiful humans and now they get to spend the rest of their lives together!

Thank you Jesus for the love both of these 2 give me. Forever grateful 💛 by @melsch888
