Your going to love ❤️ this easy one to do 👻

Grab a white paper cup, draw ✍️ on some black spooky eyes 👀 using a @sharpie_anz

Next, grab a flameless tealight candle and gently poke it through the cup. Switch it on and enjoy the ghostly glow 👻 Simples!

Ps I didn’t need the sticky tape to hold the candle in place it was/is fine without the need for any 👻

👻 Viral Eyeball 👁️ Balloon 🎈 👻 Day 15 👻

Ok so I saw it & had to try it 👻 first I had to order some black balloons 🎈 as we didn’t have any & then I’m not going to lie but the first lot popped 😳 I think the ‘rod’ aka a skewer with a sharp pointy end perhaps did it or the trying to blow up 3 balloons at once using just a regular hand balloon pump!?!?

Anyways take two and we used the electric pump Mr 12 using to pump up his footies 🏉 and hey presto we got the similar looking 👁️ eyeball that is discovered on the explore page and the one I came across was by @dailyoriginalvids 💖👌 Mr 7 didn’t want me to draw the red lines on it and well I’m I had immense trouble trying to tie the ends of three thicknesses of balloons 🎈 so I twisted the ends tightly and used a bit of sticky tape and Mr 7 took it away to take a photo of it on his iPad and sadly it deflated before he could! So here is the only footage of the viral spooky eyeball 👁️ balloon 🎈 we made 👻

👻🕷️ Day 14 ~ Magnetic 🧲 Spider 🕷️ 👻

Gah we have all been quite sick 🤧 here this past week but we did manage to build a magnetic 🧲 spider 🕷️ - on the washing machine again, because the washing still needs to be done even when unwell 🤧 Thanks to @connetix_tiles for this fun 🤩 one to copy along with BOO 👻 and the pumpkin 🎃 we have also recreated so far this spooky season 👻

👻 Day 13 ~ Hungry 😋 Monsters 👹 Game 🎲 👻

Oh my gosh when I saw this by @miss_crafty_mama I just knew it was a must try for Mr 7 to explore more fruits and vegetables in a safe and fun 🤩 way 👻 through a roll the dice 🎲 game where you turn the diy made paper rolled rods to make the box 📦 monsters eat that many fruits 🍇 or vegetables 🌽 (depending on which box 📦 monster 👹 you chose). The free printables I just googled and found which was great as they also included the name of the fruit and vegetable too 👻

I must admit I spent a long time preparing and making these for not much return on the time actually spent playing the game with Mr 7 😳😢 I think perhaps because we are sick 🤧 and also they do look 👀 pretty bland beige monsters 👹 not as enticing as the beautiful colourful ones by @miss_crafty_mama which really catch your eye 👁️ and make them so much more enticing than my boring beige monsters 👹 🫣

But it’s definitely a fabulous spooky play activity to try 👻

👻 🕷️🕸️📖 Whoosh! Walter’s Wonderful Web 📖🕷️🕸️👻 Day 12 of #31daysofhalloweenplay 👻

Today is a bit of bookish play, with a bit of geometry (shapes) & a diy too - because I couldn’t find our set of plastic Geoboards 🫣 so I made a diy cardboard one with push pins 📌 so we could make the shapes Walter makes in the book 📖 well all except the circle ⭕️ we didn’t make that one.

👻 🎈Day 11 ~ DIY Cup Squishy 👻 🎈

Ok here’s another cool 😎 spooky activity to try that I also discovered on the Instagram Explore Page 👻

I thought this would be easy as @davissa.handmade makes it look so easy 💖👌 I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe I’m paper cup squishy challenged 🤪 but first I made the black balloon 🎈 too large to fit in the cup 🫣 & then the second time I kinda blew the balloon up in the cup so I’d get the right size! This seemed to work better but still the squish was harder to get to pop out the round mouth hole than I thought it would be and Mr 7 definitely struggled and I needed two hands to make it work! But it certainly was a fun 🤩 one to try 👻

👻 Day 10 ~ Faux Stained Glass Frame 🖼️ 👻 but make it Pokemon too 🤭 for Mr 7.

Saw these amazing Faux Stained Glass artworks done by @lakenashleydesigns and just knew we had to try it too 👻

Our frame 🖼️ was quite small but that worked out well as I had the colour in page still trapped on my iPhone 📱 so I just traced it off my phone and then enlarged it again by tracing around it so it sat nicely in the middle of the frame 🖼️ The image I used was a Pokemon Halloween Coloring page by @3boysandadog 💖👌 that is received recently in an email and thought Mr 7 might like it 🥰

To colour the image and the black outline, I used my trusty @sharpie_anz which worked so well, except I could not find our red one (think the Elves 🧝 maybe took it back to the Nth Pole with them 😳) so I couldn’t do the red cheeks on Pikachu and I used the white @posca_aus paint 🎨 pen I got recently from Creative Kids Lab

The crumpled foil behind the coloured in glass is definitely what makes it 💖👌 Definitely a fun 🤩 activity for a crafty Saturday afternoon or any day for that matter 😉

👻 🍫🕷️ Day 9 ~ Chocolate Spiders 🍫 🕷️👻

Fun 🤩 Friday Treat 👻 Chocolate Spiders 🕷️ 🍫😋

Now I’m not going to lie, I actually had a hankering for these and they did not disappoint 😋 so quick and easy to make too 👻 and I actually did not know that they included peanut butter until I read the recipe on the back of the @changsasianfood fried noodles pack! So lucky I had some in the pantry and added in a spoonful 🥄 Melt in the microwave for about a minute (I had to do a further 10 seconds) Mix the warmed peanut butter with the melted chocolate and then add in the dried noodles. Once the noodles are coated place spoonfuls onto some grease proof baking paper and pop into the fridge to harden. You can add some spooky eyeballs 👀 if you wish. This also lead me to do a little google research to discover if in fact do all spiders have eight eyes and the answer is…”No, not all spiders have eight eyes. While eight is the standard number for most species, spider eye counts vary widely:
• Six eyes: Common in venomous species like the brown recluse and the woodlouse spider.
• Four eyes: Found in families such as Tetrablemma (armored spiders).
• Two eyes: Seen across most members of the Caponiidae family.
• Zero eyes: Certain cave-dwelling or subterranean spiders (such as Stalita taenaria) have no eyes at all.

So phew 😮‍💨 I didn’t have to put 8 eyes on any and we are still correct ☑️ 🍫🕷️👻

👻🕷️Spider Rescue 🛟 Cup Kerplunk 🕷️👻 Day 8 👻

Hmmm 🤔 this year I thought 💭 we’d try this Cup Kerplunk with a Spider 🕷️ Rescue 🛟 twist 👻 using a mini red back spider 🕷️ by @safariltd and from @minizoo.shop and coloured craft sticks 👻

Previously we have used a colander and pipecleaners and a colander and dried spaghetti sticks 👻

As we had 5 mini spiders 🕷️ we played it 5 times and managed to rescue 🛟 2 spiders 🕷️ and 3 met their doom in the bottom of the green plastic cup 💚👻

👻🎃 Day 7 🎃👻

Wow 🤩 we are already 7 days in of October and so far we have showed up each day with a spooky play idea of some sort 👻 only 24 more to go! 😳🤪 I think I can, I think I can!

So todays is a retake on the official Jack-o-Lantern 🎃 magnetic 🧲 tiles pack released by @connetix_tiles but instead we are using our @connetix_tiles Rainbow 🌈 Mega 212 pieces pack 🫣 so yeah it doesn’t look 👀 exactly like the Pumpkin 🎃 Pack but we tried using what we had and I think it turned out pretty good 😊

👻 💚 Day 6 - #31daysofhalloweenplay 💚👻

Well you can probably tell from the music 🎧 choice as well as the green 💚 dyed rice 🍚 who this character is?!?

Yes that’s right Frankenstein 💚👻 & fun 🤩 fact I learnt or rather googled when doing this one is that if you keep dried green split peas for too long they infact lose their green colour 😳 the pigment aka chlorophyll inside the peas slowly degrades when exposed to light, heat and oxygen! So my original plan was to use the big bag of green dried split peas we have had and used many times over before in our plays but they kinda look like dried chickpeas now 🤪 so green metallic rice to the rescue 🛟 as Mr 7 is home 🏠 sick 🤧 today so a trip to the supermarket was out of the question!

The rice 🍚 got a little stuck at times in the funnel but still worked just as well as the red (orange in colour) dried lentils we used last year to fill as Jack-o-lanterns 🎃 which we included one of as well as the cotton wool ghost 👻 we made last year and I had a couple of empty bottles to recreate again this year so Frankenstein wasn’t so lonely on his own! 🤭

👻 Day 5 👻 #31daysofhalloweenplay 👻

Um er I seem to be in my ‘ghost’ era 👻🫣🤭 & I saw 👀 this really cool 😎 idea 💡 on the explore page 📃 and then forgot what I saw and tried to make it from memory 🤪 well I think it’s safe to say that clearly my memory is shot as I then later found the original by @tilde.birla and have included it at the end and well they certainly look a lot more like fabulous Mummies than my wonky ghosts 👻🤪 but hey at least we tried right!
