[melter] (melt’ er) n. - musical alchemy during decomposition

“[melter] isn’t a band that seems particularly interested in fitting neatly inside categories. The project exists somewhere between experimentation and instinct, where vocals become texture, language becomes atmosphere. Perhaps what makes [melter] intriguing, is that they trust listeners enough to leave room for interpretation. Robert Hyman founded [melter] as an outlet for the restless creative curiosity that had long driven him toward the darker corners of music. Drawing from a lifetime of post-punk, industrial, and experimental influences, he envisioned a project where mood, texture, and emotional honesty mattered more than trends, helping shape melter into one of Chicago’s emerging voices in dark alternative music. Jax Allos joined [melter] and quickly became an essential part of its identity, bringing a unique perspective that helped expand both the band’s sound and vision. Her instinct for melody, atmosphere, and storytelling has helped transform melter from a solo concept into a true creative partnership, giving the project much of the character and emotional resonance that defines it today.”—Intro excerpt by @KayteeThrun, and do read her full interview within zine issue “13: Tridecaphobia”. 🦇 Remember that hearing positive feedback means absolutely everything to artists and creatives alike—so let’s please hear from YOU! 🦇🖤 Give @MelterMusic a follow, listen, and download at melter.bandcamp.com/music. #MelterMusic.

I love this shot from the NM GOTH FEST 2026 taken by @livingdeadnessa , thanks! The Crash Davidian "Fall Out 2026 Tour" is coming up quick! A couple of things:

- Madison, WI is happening, I'm just waiting for the venue to send me a flyer for the event.
- Unfortunately Columbus, OH is NOT happening due to problems securing the venue. I guess I'll have to play there next year.

All other dates are confirmed and I hope to see you there!

Sinclair Noire is an Austin, Texas-based gothic rock and deathrock trio featuring Ethan Stafford on vocals, guitars, and synths, alongside Jack Bandiera on bass and Von Dasa on drums. Known for a corrosive mix of darkwave gloom, post-punk, and industrial-tinged fury, they released their debut LP, Bone Orchard.

[melter] comprises Robert Hyman and Jax Allos: a sonic disturbance made of flesh, blood, and machine.Their 2023 self-titled EP ranges from the jarring, distorted rhythms and menace of dark alternative rock and industrial noise, through to the brooding atmospheres of darkwave and grinding gloom. Onstage, Hyman’s propulsive battery of live drums drives the duo’s mix of electronics and heavy distorted bass; whilst Allos stalks the stage like some menacing hybrid of Peter Murphy’s more sinister sister.

Crash Davidian blasted onto the industrial scene and has made an impressive entrance, devastating dance floors all over LA with his incredibly catchy blend of industrial synth, electronic rock/pop, and bitingly clever lyricism. Reminiscent of old guard acts like Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode, he also holds his own with the upper echelons of modern gothic industrial acts.

Voltaic Planes is a dark dance duo from Chicago, drawing inspiration darkwave artists like Boy Harsher, Linea Aspera, & TR/ST. In their music, they explore themes of loneliness, isolation, trauma, and anger, challenging you to dance through the dark times while embracing and learning from all that life throws at you.

DJ Veganinblack's meticulously curated CD sets simultaneously support and explore the currentz, classix & future sounds of dark subculture through the discovery of new artists & dancefloor bangers from the archives. taken in Reggies by @meltermusic
