You cannot love the culture but not its people.

Ghana ist nicht nur eine Kultur zum Konsumieren. Es sind Menschen, Familien, Leben.

Wenn Kultur gefeiert, geteilt, gehört und getragen wird, verbindet sie uns.

Aber echte Verbindung bedeutet auch, hinzusehen, wenn es nicht nur um Ästhetik geht.

In Accra haben schwere Überschwemmungen den Alltag vieler Menschen zerstört. Häuser, Sicherheit, Normalität – vieles ist plötzlich weg.

Wenn dich eine Kultur erreicht, sollte dich auch ihre Realität erreichen.

Und Support beginnt nicht, wenn es bequem ist. Sondern wenn er gebraucht wird.

Wenn du glaubst, dass Kultur auch Verantwortung bedeutet, dann teile diesen Beitrag in deiner Story, markiere jemanden, der ihn sehen sollte, und hinterlasse ein ❤️ für Ghana.

I keep thinking about community — and how it is never something that simply exists, but something that has to be built.

And I also have to name that I’m speaking from a place of privilege when I have access to time, safety, and space to even try to create it.

Audre Lorde reminds me that the personal is never separate from the political — and I feel that in my own attempts to build spaces where people can gather.

But access to community is not equal. For many, the conditions that make it possible are missing or unstable.

So the question becomes not only how we build community, but for whom it is possible right now — and how we can change that.

Honestly, I couldn’t be prouder 🙆🏽‍♀️
Today we had our final rehearsal, and it was incredibly emotional. For the past six months, we’ve been working alongside these amazing young adults, and the journey has been so intense, challenging, exhausting, inspiring — and unbelievably beautiful at the same time.

Tomorrow, it all comes together. We’ll finally present the result of this journey at @kasernebasel at 8 PM, and we truly hope many of you will come and experience it with us 🫶🏽

This has honestly been one of the most meaningful and beautiful projects I’ve ever been part of. So much trust, growth, vulnerability, laughter, and heart went into it.

Thank you, @jeannelehnherr for reaching out to me and for such a beautiful collaboration and opportunity. And thank you to every single person who was part of this journey — on stage and behind the scenes ❤️
