MILK for life (Man I Love Kashmir) by @melvinnotsosadankar

THOUGHTS HERE 👇

I had the amazing privilege of visiting Kashmir for the first time ever, here’s some things that I have to highlight:

1: The hospitality of Kashmiri people is off the charts, everyone is so polite and welcoming here. We literally made friends with a Kashmiri native on the flight who dropped us near our hotel since cabs are a bit pricey at the airport. Talk about setting the tone of a trip!

2: Having Wazwan in Kashmir is truly an experience. The amount and variety of meat on the plate made me panic so hard, just in case I wasn’t able to finish it all. Regardless, I’ve never had meat like this in my life, ever. An avid non vegetarian like me couldn't touch meat for 2 days after I was done with the Wazwan here, it's heavy duty stuff.

3: There’s army personnel everywhere, laden with guns on their back, at every 100 metres. Our car got stopped a bunch of times, but the soldiers were super nice, just asked us where we were from and wished us a great time. We had to travel on election day, which meant the military presence was amped up even more.

4: Kahwa tea is great, but I definitely got Kahwa fatigue considering I had almost 3-4 cups a day. Now that I’m back home, I really do miss it.

5: Didn’t realize that Zomato/Swiggy stops working after 10:30ish, we had to skip dinner for a night. Also the dogs here aren’t friendly, do not walk upto them or pet em.

6: Pay extra for the window seat if you’re going by flight, just trust me on this. Also get a postpaid number, no prepaid in Kashmir

7: All the talk about Kashmir’s scenic beauty is justified. The air, the greenery, the houses, the breeze, just the privilege of seeing snow-capped peaks no matter where you’re standing; all of these make sure that you can’t just visit Kashmir once. I’m already planning a 2nd trip next year with the family, and I can’t wait :) by @melvinnotsosadankar
