Mel Wilson's "High Ridge" clients began with a “pool project’ , wanting to extend their already amazing alfresco area. Thus, a completely new space was created.

It's a space all the family can use - multi-use | a place to rest | a place to stay | a retreat with lots of storage! Including this next level unit which is the WINNER in the Best @polytec Small Range Joinery Category!

The Ridge

I’ve got to say, the joinery was an absolute stand out here at The Ridge! It’s one thing for @melwilsoninteriors to have the incredible vision to dream this up but the execution by the @icabcabinets team was genuinely first class. Rattan inlay, genuine marble tile kickers, the beautiful feature lighting…. I bloody love brining this type of detail together!

Who wants to have a little look in my new office & studio space? I love having a place that’s dedicated to photography, that allows creativity to flow and a place to come up with new ideas & projects for my personal work and for clients.

The wonderful @melwilsoninteriors helped us to design the space, to create a spacious work environment that feels calm and inspirational. Mel helped with colour, furniture and storage - which was a big consideration. Mel worked with Gary from @icabcabinets to create some beautiful, efficient and creative cabinetry for all our storage needs - we love it so much! We also love so many features in the studio, but I especially love the custom designed desks and tiled table legs. I seem to work very efficiently there!

In this reel you might see the Ackowlegement of Country plaques sitting just in the entrance of the office, these were a collaboration between Kaz at @jharmbiandco and I, with help from @corbjkyza (with wording) to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people and lands on which I work. Jharmbi & Co designed these using my photography and created a custom design just for me - how very special! Kaz choose @onstoneprints for the printing and framing, which I love as it adds an earthy and textured feel to the plaques. I have a strong connection to nature, landscape, the waterways, rivers and ocean of Wadawurrung Country in my work and LOVE having these acknowledgement plaques in my creative space to remind me of the traditional owners and how care of country is weaved into so much of what we do.

The studio and gallery-style space downstairs looks fantastic too, I’ve been shooting lots there, portraits, campaigns and personal work…so I’ll share more of that soon.

It has also been lovely to be able to welcome customers in, to come and view my photographic art in person, to see the beautiful quality of the prints and framing. My online shop shows the work available, but sometimes it helps people to see them in person for scale and quality. Appointments can be made by emailing me directly.

From extraction to delivery, today we were invited to learn about the journey of natural stone.

Variations in colour, veining, texture and pattern, make natural stone slabs unique and the perfect choice for beautiful benchtops and other stunning projects.

When it comes to cabinetry and interiors, safe is out – statement is in.

“Clients are becoming braver with their choices,” says designer Mel Wilson.

“While white will always be a classic, bold hues are stealing the spotlight.

Greens and blues remain strong, with deep charcoals, navy tones, and rich timbers bringing warmth and drama.

Bold stone benchtops are also having a moment – natural stone is still a favourite, but luxe alternatives are gaining momentum.”

So, if you’re building or renovating, here's the thing, don’t be afraid to get creative and go confident.

The future of interiors is bold, beautiful, and full of personality. 💥
