I grew up listening to Radio Bop, but I so clearly remember hearing about this new station that was launching in 1986. On the morning of the 1st of September I insisted on sitting in the front of my dads bakkie vs the rear (where I used to do my last minute homework 🫣), so that I could listen in to Radio Metro. 📻 To find myself working there 40 years later, still blows my mind! I’ve had the privilege of working with the best in the radio business, traveling the world, interviewing presidents and pop stars, making friends and knowing that no two days are ever the same! Last night was a beautiful celebration with the Metro FM family, of both the legacy and the future of this iconic brand. Happy Birthday, and thank you @metrofmsa 🎈🫶🏼✨ #radio #metrofm #metrofm40thbirthday by @melzinbala

Suited up! Today’s broadcast of #TheMiddayLinkup was out at Carnival City, with the learners of Inkumbulo Secondary School’s special Matric valedictory celebration. #BeyondTheDesk is an ongoing @metrofmsa initiative to support, guide and inspire the learners with resources, tools and information to help them succeed in life. 💪🏾 #TML #CSI by @melzinbala

A Club Med girlie in her natural habitat 😋 #ClubMedSouthAfrica @clubmedsouthafrica #TheArtOfFreeTime An amazing few days celebrating the official opening of @clubmedsouthafrica ! What a view! This is the 2nd largest hotel project in SA history! Obsessed with the details of the resort fusing South African details with global design. Had the honor of hosting the Brand Immersion session for the global and local press, with an incredible lineup of the people involved in bringing the idea to life. Charlotte Bernin, Club Med EMEA CEO DETAIL! The sleep I slept here 😍 Me vs the Club Med buffet again 😂 🕉️ Love that there are multiple classes to choose from every day. Stayed at the Ilanga Exclusive Collection. 😮‍💨👌🏾 The Zen Pool Ilanga Lounge & Bar One of the best things about a Club Med trip is the dope people you get to hang with @ladynam_bm Aisha & Bilqees Baker 🥰 Nguni Club Art Always time for a Aperol Spritz 🍊 Time to go 😔 Till next time ✌🏾 by @melzinbala

A definite highlight in August, was being invited back by the @fscasouthafrica to deliver the keynote address at their ‘All Things Bright And Beautiful” #WomensMonth celebration at stunning @thelakesidevenue in Pretoria. 🌸 A lot of truth, insight and laughs from all the speakers and panel, followed by a wonderful lunch in the afternoon sun. Thank you @temsmarele for the invite. See you next year 🙂‍↔️ #FSCA by @melzinbala

We ended off Women’s Month, and kicked off @metrofmsa’s 40th birthday month this week, by interviewing the one and only @shadotwala on #TML! I met Shado just when I was starting out in broadcasting, and her cool girl energy, deep raspy voice and intelligence were traits I admired, and still do, deeply. Thank you for paving the way for so many of us in radio, and television. You fought quiet battles then that we benefit from today. You’re an icon, a legend. She is the moment 🙌🏾🫶🏽❣️ #metrofm #themiddaylinkup by @melzinbala
