I’m trying to find the right words. This Christmas was different in so many ways! I wasn’t sure how to walk into this season…..my first Christmas with my dad no longer here on earth…. Last year was hard but not the same! I explained to AJ early on how hard I thought this would be. I then expressed my desire for experiences over presents. I said I will always hold tight to those times with my daddy and that’s All I really remember. Dancing and laughing and decorating and eating and just laughing!!! I can still remember the day we picked my wedding venue and the laughs and fun we had!!
We agreed after all that.. So this year that’s exactly what we did! From basketball to football we went to as many games as we could fit into our schedule! We all love Christmas, we found events to enjoy the season! And we LOVED every bit of it. Our Christmas didn’t end the way we planned. Our trip home from Dallas led us straight to the ER and I was brought to an emergency appendectomy. My plans came to an unexpected unwavering halt! I thought I may lose my mind! ACTUALLY Then I quickly started to complain to God and then moved to a conversation….Im sorry. Why? I don’t get it! I need this to stop! Thank you for being with me! Please help me get home! I’m so mad. I’m sitting in your mercy and grace. My dad was in the hospital last year, I literally can’t do this! I’m so pissed off God. Thank you for allowing me to do what we got to do. I’m so thankful! I’m still so frustrated…My pastor said Debra you don’t have to be perfect just honest. Well….here ya go.
I’m happy to say I walked out Christmas Eve to get everything together for my family!! I loved every minute of Christmas! I was angry and grateful at the same time!
I have cried for days. I can’t work out for 6 weeks….do you know me?!?!?! I’ve prayed in my time alone more than normal. I have said PLEASE talk to me…..
And I’m here to finish by saying this…..It’s a struggle! I know God is right here next to me and I wouldn’t do life without Him. He always is Sovereign! My kids are all back under all one roof and my husband has been so great to me! I’m GRATEFUL! Please hear me. This post is only to point you to Jesus! What a Beautiful day….46 years ago you were brought on this earth to eventually be my everything and my true love and look at the picture now! I’m in awe as I write this…..you’ve surpassed every single idea I had in my head as to what a husband and marriage would look like! THANK YOU GOD! I’m beyond grateful to call you my husband, the father to my sons & the man that leads our tribe, our provider and my best friend! I’ve never been more secure and proud at the same time. Thank You! Regardless of the path we are directed to….I’m behind you every step of the way. My love for you will never disappear!
You’ve pushed me past my comfort as I have you and I’m so thankful for it! We aren’t perfect but we are permanent!! That is the foundation we’ve set for our family and future! 20 Years Old!! I just cannot begin to comprehend how this much time has passed since you first came into this world! You’re a Blessing that just keeps on giving in so many ways!

Today I honor the gift your life continues to be to mine! I’m better because you’re my son!!

I pray and BELIEVE this next decade will be your best decade and as long as I am living my baby YOU will always be!!

Mavryn!!! Please hear me when I say Thank You for holding space for me to grow up along side you!! Not everything works out according to your plans but as I look back…..I’m filled with gratitude and joy through the journey!
