One of the funniest background details in ‘Twilight’ happens while Bella and Jessica are sitting outside at Forks High. Behind them, a group of students appear to be intensely playing hacky sack, except for part of the scene they’re kicking at absolutely nothing. The extras keep hopping, swinging their legs and reacting as though the sack is still moving between them.

The full sequence makes the moment even better. A real hacky sack can actually be spotted earlier, which rules out the popular idea that the production simply forgot to give the extras one. During the continuous background action, it appears to get kicked away from the group, but instead of stopping the take, the extras simply continue performing the game without it. by @memelord

Tesla unveiled its redesigned Roadster yesterday, October 15, at a SpaceX testing facility in Texas, and the biggest moment was watching the prototype actually go airborne. During the demonstration, it drove up a curved ramp, continued upside down, then launched off the end and rotated in midair before landing on its wheels. The car uses ultra-high-pressure compressed-air thrusters developed with SpaceX to help produce those aerial movements, although the demonstration showed a brief airborne maneuver rather than sustained flight over traffic. Tesla also demonstrated thruster-assisted acceleration, claiming a 0–60 mph time of roughly 0.8 seconds, a figure that still needs independent verification. The planned lineup includes Performance, Thrust and Rocket versions, with the more extreme configurations bringing the aerospace technology into the package. Production is currently targeted for 2028, more than a decade after Tesla first revealed its next-generation Roadster concept in 2017, so this was a prototype showcase rather than the launch of a car customers can take home today. Florida saw a Tesla go airborne and immediately said, “We need that here.” Governor Ron DeSantis joined the conversation after Tesla’s new Roadster demonstration when someone on X asked whether it would be street legal in Florida. His response was, “We will make sure that it’s legal,” followed by a joke about using it to leapfrog golf carts in The Villages. Yes, the governor of Florida is already imagining a Tesla jumping over retirees on their way to pickleball. His comment wasn’t an official legal approval, and it doesn’t mean drivers can start flying over traffic, but it certainly gave the internet another very Florida moment. Tesla’s demonstration showed a prototype using thrusters to perform airborne maneuvers, and DeSantis apparently saw the beginning of a solution to golf cart congestion.
