I do not read fiction, and especially not something that looks like a romance. But after some prompting from both @hannah.leanne.hobson and @emanuelacross I decided to give this book a chance. I’m SO glad I did. It’s a fictional story based on the book of Hosea from the Bible, but set in the 1850’s during the California gold rush. I’ll be thinking of scenes from this story for the rest of my life. It’s a literary masterpiece, reminding us that God’s love is unconditional, none of us are without sin, we must have NO other “god’s” before Him, and it is His desire to redeem us all! Highly recommend. Reading Hosea in the Bible again, I now have mental pictures from this story. by @memo1673

One of our most amazing days in Alaska. We scheduled the glacier quest boat tour out of Whittier through @amyplanstheadventure
Getting to the tiny town of Whittier in the most rain we had seen all week, driving through a single lane tunnel that was shared with a train part of the day, was part of the adventure. Barely able to see where to park, we agreed to make the best of it and enjoy what we were able to see on the tour, but then, the rain stopped just while we were on the boat. We had really great visibility of so many glaciers, wildlife and the beautiful mountains. The lunch they served was hot and delicious and we met several people from Tennessee that we enjoyed talking to between stops. Definitely worth doing, and we would love to do it again! Hopefully next time with the Hobson’s. by @memo1673
