Helvetica is one of the most recognizable typefaces ever created. Designed in Switzerland in 1957 by Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann, it was originally called Neue Haas Grotesk before being renamed Helvetica in 1960. Its clean, neutral look helped it become a favorite in modern design, appearing everywhere from New York City subway signage to major corporate logos. Tattoos in helvetica font has gained traction online showing the elegance of the font and how “artistic” it looks even on your body. This lace safety vest is actually real safety gear and not just a fashion piece. It was designed by Floyd Ruby, who took the regular neon work vest and replaced the usual fabric with bright lace backed by mesh, while keeping the reflective strips that make safety vests visible. The yellow versions are rated to ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 Class 2 standards, meaning they can actually be used as high visibility workwear. The idea started as a small project to make something as ordinary as a safety vest more interesting.
