Tafrant ceramic wall light is part of our new collection of handmade ceramic wall lights co-created with Houda, Hayatt and Naima. Hand painted using brown slip called Mogra, a natural pigment made of manganese oxide and whitewash, white clay called biyada. Handmade from scratch from clay to firing. Tafrant is inspired by the traditional clay bread oven of the Moroccan Pre-Rif mountains. See also here part of the full artisanal process. by @memori.studio_

Patchwork textile artworks Zellige made from scraps of woollen fabric dyed with henna, walnut bark, madder root. From thread to artwork, each step of the process is handmade. Each square of wool has been cut and perforated by hand in a random pattern to give this patchwork its unique rhythm.⁠ Finally, the pieces are sewn by hand onto canvas that has been pre-painted with natural ochres.⁠⁠⠀⁠#zerowastetextiles⁠ #leftoverfabric⁠ ⁠ by @memori.studio_

Soon reunited with all the women weavers we work with for 9 years at the village in the Moroccan Anti Atlas. These women are the guardians of ancestral savoir-faire of hand spinning, hand weaving and vegetable dying, specifically henna dying. Can’t wait to spend lots of time with all of them 🤎 by @memori.studio_

Amariya ceramic wall light is part of our new collection of handmade ceramic wall lights co-created with Houda, Hayatt and Naima. Hand painted using brown slip called Mogra, a natural pigment made of manganese oxide. The Amariya is traditionally a wooden palanquin that is used to present the bride and groom to their guests during a Moroccan wedding ceremony. by @memori.studio_
