I think the key word for Serge Lutens 2025’s release, Le perce-vent, is ‘elusive’. It wants to create the sensation of coolness by using sage on a bed of clean, sheer musks. In reality, it feels like the ghost of a chypre. Although very feint, the scent itself is very ‘persistent’ on the skin. For the longest time, I felt I was wearing nothing with a side of freshness.

I’m revisiting Rochas Moustache, something I smelled briefly before but now it’s here to stay. What a pleasantly addictive amber this turned out to be! Also, we’re taking a look at the funniest bottle design, Rochas Man, the horn itself, a cardamom vanilla scent done by Maurice Roucel. The bottle of Moustache is absolutely fine, by the way. I have no idea why it leaked.
