Norman is LIVE!!! 🐮

This release is a little bittersweet.

Norman was inspired by my mother-in-law’s highland cow, who passed away this week. 🤍
This pattern now holds a really special place in my heart.

I’m so excited to finally share him with you 🧶🤎
This was such a labor of love, and I cannot wait to see your Normans come to life.

I’m also 32 sales away from 100 on Etsy (!!) so to celebrate…

✨ The first 40 orders will get 40% off ANY pattern ✨
✨ After that, everything will be 25% off for the rest of the weekend ✨

✨ Norman is now live on Etsy — link in bio ✨
✨ All patterns are included + there’s a bundle with both Norman & Mabel available 🤍🐮

Comment “NORMAN” if you’re making one!! 🐮👇

If you love crochet, cozy nights, and turning yarn into something special… you’re in the right place. 🧶

I see so many new faces here lately, so I wanted to re-introduce myself! 👋

Hi, I’m Alyssa — the maker behind MemoryLayneDesign 🧶

A few things about me:

✍️ I’m a crochet pattern designer who loves creating cute pieces others can bring to life

🧶 I started this small business because I fell in love with turning yarn into something meaningful

🏕️ When I’m not crocheting, I love a good binge-worthy show, spending time outdoors, and being with my cute family

This little business means so much to me, and I’m so grateful you’re here supporting it. 🤍

Here you’ll find crochet patterns, tester calls, pattern releases, and lots of handmade goodness.

If you’re new here, comment NEW so I can say hi! 👋And tell me — how long have you been crocheting?

Because apparently everything is cuter in mini form!! 🥹🎄❤️

I took my big Holly & Jack elves and shrunk them down into the cutest little minis, and I might love them even MORE!! 😍

These two are officially releasing THIS WEEK!! 🎉🎄

Now I need to know… are you team BIG elves or team MINI elves?! 👀❤️

Some days I feel like I have a million things on my to-do list, and somehow I keep adding more. 😂🧶

Between designing patterns, testing, filming, editing, running my Etsy shop, and trying to keep up with everything behind the scenes, there’s always something that needs to be done.

But then I see someone make one of my patterns, receive a sweet message from a customer, or watch an idea in my head turn into something real. 🥹❤️

And I’m reminded why I started.

Building Memory Layne Design has pushed me, challenged me, and taught me more than I ever expected. But getting to turn something I love into something I get to share with all of you? That’s pretty special. 🤍

It’s not always easy, but I’m so grateful this is what I get to do. 🫶🏻

What you DON’T see behind the camera when you’re trying to create content for your small business! 😂🎬

For every cute, put-together video I post, there are about 100 takes, a whole lot of bloopers, and me questioning why I thought making content was a good idea. 🤣🧶

Nobody tells you that running a small business also means becoming a full-time content creator! 😂

Please tell me I’m not the only one who struggles to get ONE good video! 🤪❤️

Can we just take a moment for how BEAUTIFUL this heirloom nativity is?! 🥹🤍

I had the sweetest opportunity to be a pattern tester for this gorgeous nativity set, and I am absolutely in LOVE with how it turned out!! 😍

There’s something so special about creating something with your own two hands that can be treasured and passed down for generations. 🥹✨

I already know this will be one of those Christmas decorations I look forward to pulling out year after year! 🤍

A huge thank you to @monarchthreadscrochet for letting me be a small part of bringing this beautiful pattern to life!! ❤️

One week ago, I launched The Memory Layne Project in honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. 🤍

A little crochet bear pattern created in memory of my son, Kurt, whom I lost at 28 weeks.

In just ONE WEEK, over 180 Memory Bear patterns have been purchased. 🥹

What started as a way to honor my son has turned into something so much bigger than I ever imagined.

And I don’t want to stop here. 🤍

Do you think we can get 100 MORE Memory Bear patterns into the hands of crocheters who want to bring comfort to grieving families?

Every little bear made has the potential to remind a family that their baby mattered and will never be forgotten.

If you crochet, I’d love for you to join us. And if you don’t, sharing this Reel could help us reach someone who does!

Let’s keep spreading love, one little bear at a time. 🤍

Yesterday I sat down and filmed the full Memory Bear tutorial from start to finish. 🤍

I wanted this pattern to feel possible even for someone who may be newer to crochet, because every single bear made has the potential to bring a little comfort to a family on one of their hardest days.

The full tutorial is now available with the Memory Bear pattern, and the pattern is still 70% off. 🧸🤍

If you’ve already purchased the pattern and would like the link to the full tutorial, just message me and I’ll send it over!

There are also still a few spots open in The Memory Layne Project crochet along if you’d like to make and donate a bear with us this month. 🤍

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to recognize a reality that affects roughly 1 in 4 pregnancies. Behind that statistic is a profound heartbreak, meaning almost all of us know someone who has walked this path.

My dear friend, @memorylaynedesign, is one of those mothers. This Friday at 6PM, I’m hosting a Crochet Night at @covecafeaz to support her and bring her Memory Bear project to Prescott.

We will be crafting handmade bears to give families navigating unimaginable loss a tangible comfort to hold onto. If you don't have a specific family in mind for your bear, I will be delivering all extra donations to a local midwives collective so they can place them directly into the hands of mothers when they need them most.

Not a crocheter? You can still make a difference. We are also hosting a raffle featuring items from local businesses, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the midwives collective.

Whether you come to crochet or just to buy a few raffle tickets, we would love to have you join us in supporting these families 🖤 by @memorylaynedesign

This is why I created the Memory Bear. 🤍

What starts as yarn and a hook can become something a family gets to hold onto during one of the hardest moments of their life.

Each pattern includes a printable card that can be tied right onto the bear before it’s donated or gifted. Such a small detail, but I hope it helps every bear feel a little more personal and full of love.

The Memory Layne Project is about turning our crochet into comfort — one little bear at a time. 🤍

I still have a few spots open in the crochet along if you’d like to make and donate a Memory Bear with us.
