What’s it like to volunteer at @garmafestival? Here’s a little glimpse behind-the-scenes of the pre-festival experience. This year 101 vollies came together for Garma Festival featuring the 2026 theme ‘bukmak’ meaning ‘everyone’ in Yolŋu matha - it really was bukmak hands on deck preparing tents, chairs, banners, saplings, sand and spaces in the lead up to the festival 🙌✨

Plastic - it’s in the environment, it’s in animals, it’s now in us, humans, too. Kal’s doco investigates our plastic addiction and the incredible efforts and initiatives across the country providing solutions, change and hope.

It includes the beautiful @dhimurru x @seashepherdaustralia efforts up north to the @take3forthesea campaign.

The panel featured @surfersforclimate @kalglanznig @beauisms @cipham from @marineconservation.au @boomerangalliance @serialbeachcomber providing insight, hope and action through many avenues. Write to the MPs, demand and use less plastic, keep having conversations about plastic free solutions and actions 🙌

Less plastic, more life 💙✨🙌

Thank you for the invitation to the Narrm premiere last month🙏

An epic journey 905km Travis and Renata walked (and swam) from Narrm/Melb to Kamberri/Canberra for truth telling, healing and meaning change. The strength, resistance and community coming together to ask for a national truth telling process. We have seen it work in Victoria through the Yoorrook Justice Commission. It is nothing to be feared but everything to be gained.

Truth is healing and an invitation to walk together
Truth is perspective in amplifying voices and understanding
Truth is connection, respect, empathy and action

As reconciliation week’s theme of “all in”

Grateful to walk together on the final leg and catch up with some incredible people and connect with some new people too.

Then a visit to the Mabo exhibition at the National Library.

A month since the epic walk 🙏 Truth-telling continues - sign the open letter of support for truthtelling and healing at www.walkfortruth.com
