Bhargava & Brandt & binders!

For over a year, Utsav and I have been working on our original outta-this-world local news workplace musical comedy, WATCH THIS SPACE. And for the first time this summer, we got the chance to share it: performed by amazing actors for a killer audience in a lovely reading setting. Major thanks to the wonderful crew at @thehousetheatreco for tapping us to be the first musical ever produced as part of their Greenhouse Reading Series — and to the truly delightful team of folks who came together to make this happen. The best!!!

And ofc watch this space for more Watch This Space to come this year! taken in Dramatists Guild Foundation by @merbrandt

Had an idea earlier this year that I texted to @delia.kemph who immediately responded “let’s freakin’ do this,” and boy did we freakin’ do it and do it freakin’ right.

The Spaghetti Collective was created to be a place to throw ideas at the wall and see what sticks, to share new work and share a meal in creative community.

Delia and I invited a couple creatives we love and admire (specifically @alpal1210, @andreasanayoga, @c.m.grace, @ej_etc, @photographicemory, @freshginger, @mahaylalaurence, and @oliviaaacade) to come join us for three straight weeks of dinners; each time we met, different folks were tapped to share creative work, and we’d prep a whole menu of apps and noods and desserts to nosh on throughout.

It was one of THE BEST parts of THE WHOLE SUMMER. I love this crew. I love co-hosting with Delia. I love new work. I love good pasta. I love The Spaghetti Collective. May there be much more noodlin' in the seasons to come! by @merbrandt

Post-proposal is a pretty good moment to finally manage taking a half decent photo together

(And then of course back to our silly-faces-only standard at the dive bar photobooth)

First show of 2026 was quite the (unexpectedly massive) banger??

Props to @journalingclasses who knows how to host a wild event & @amykathwills who knows how to take sweet action shots & @brooklynbowl who knows how to make a mean fried chicken platter taken in Brooklyn Bowl by @merbrandt

This Saturday, we hosted our first ever Express Yourself event in Clinton Hill. About a month before, a crew of performing and visual artists were sent a prompt. Everyone created something to bring in and share with a room full of mostly folks they didn’t know. There were sonnets and songs and sculptures and slideshows and stories and so much more. And dang, was it inspiring.

Here’s to more making for fun, and more making together.
