Twenty years ago, God gave Chef Gary LeBlanc a simple mission: feed people, just go feed people.

This is a glimpse into the journey He has taken us on ever since—the people we’ve met, the communities we’ve served, and the countless moments and miracles that continue to remind us why we do what we do.

What began with an act of obedience to feed body and soul has led to 38 million meals served, countless lives impacted across the U.S. and around the globe, and stories that remind us every day of the power of a hot, chef-prepared meal.

🌍 Since 2006, Mercy Chefs has served chef-prepared meals after disasters across the U.S. In 2010, God opened the door to our first international response in Haiti—and our vision grew beyond borders.

Launched in 2022, Mercy Chefs Global has now served in 40 countries, bringing hope and nourishment in the face of disasters, wars, and food crises.

Today, we serve over 345,000 meals every month across 23 countries, with the help of local partners, providing hot meals, groceries, clean water, and pathways to self-sufficiency.

From storm-ravaged villages to war-torn regions, our mission is the same: to bring hope, healing, and nourishment to communities during their darkest hour.❤️

For almost a year, we’ve been committed to feeding America’s heroes and their families through our Feed the Force Initiative. Last week, that commitment brought us to Fort Story in Virginia. 🇺🇸

With help from service members who volunteered to care for their own community, we served over 11,500 meals to military members and their families, both on base and in the barracks. Families received hot, chef-prepared meals, Family Grocery Boxes, and fresh produce to fill their pantries for the weeks ahead.

Already this year, Mercy Chefs Global has served more than 3 million meals, reaching families in some of the hardest places in the world.

In addition to reaching families daily in 51 nations, Mercy Chefs Global answered every call. From devastating earthquakes in South America to deadly flooding in Nepal our teams and trusted local partners continue to go wherever the need is greatest.

And with three months still left in the year, the work is far from over!

As we welcome the first day of fall, we’re looking back with so much gratitude for the incredible volunteers who served alongside us this summer. ❤️

Thank you for showing up and serving your neighbors. You became agents of change in communities facing difficult days, helping us serve hot, chef-prepared meals and hope when it was needed most.

Weeks after devastating flooding and mudslides tore through Nepal, thousands of families are still displaced, and some villages remain cut off after roads and bridges were destroyed.

As recovery efforts continue, so does our work. Together with our trusted local partners, we have now provided more than 150,000 meals through grocery distributions to impacted families, reaching hundreds more in just the past few days with grocery bags and other essential items.

Our partners are also delivering Bibles to those who have asked for them and taking time to be there for families, listen to what they’ve been through, and pray with them as they continue to rebuild their lives in the midst of so much devastation and loss. ❤️ taken in Kathmandu, Nepal by @mercychefs

When @carlherreraoficial saw what was happening in his home country of Venezuela, he knew he wanted to help.

He reached out to his former team, the @houstonrockets, and together, they connected with Mercy Chefs to help serve families impacted by the devastating earthquakes. Recently, Carl joined our team on the ground, serving alongside our chefs and local partners and seeing firsthand what it truly means to feed body and soul.

Something amazing happens over a shared meal. At Mercy Chefs Community Kitchen in Nashville, we see it every day.

This summer was no exception. We reminded local families they are seen and loved through backpack distributions with Metro Nashville Public Schools and by providing meals for local summer programs, like @barefootrepubliccamp.

Today, our hearts turn back to September 11, 2001, as we remember the lives lost and the heroes who answered tragedy with extraordinary courage.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember how our nation came together to serve one another in the midst of unimaginable tragedy. May we honor their memory by standing united and serving with hope wherever we are called.

When strong winds, heavy rain, and tornadoes hit Gary, Indiana, families faced damaged homes, fallen trees, and power outages that lasted for days. For some, the lights stayed off for weeks.

Mercy Chefs came alongside the community with grocery boxes to help families replenish food and household staples lost during the outages. Over the past two weeks, we’ve distributed two rounds of grocery boxes to 200 families impacted by the storms.

These boxes arrived at an especially important time, as students prepared to return to school and families were already balancing the everyday expenses of a new school year. By providing groceries, we were able to ease one burden and help families focus on caring for their children and rebuilding what was lost. ❤️ taken in Gary, Indiana by @mercychefs

Across the world, Mercy Chefs Global goes to some of the hardest places to serve those who need it most, bringing hot, chef-prepared meals or grocery boxes.

In Nepal, a local partnership allowed us to respond quickly after devastating flash flooding, serving families who had lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods. Serving internationally comes with challenges, from limited access and resources to reaching communities in the immediate aftermath. But we go where we’re needed, to bring hope in the form of a meal to families facing unimaginable loss.
