Final Clockout... Cosmetology School Graduation Day!

Words are inadequate when it comes to achievement. It is impossible to provide a a qualitative analysis of sacrifice. Quite frankly, "success" is an iceberg surrounded by choppy waterways and guided by rough winds. The past year and a half was pregnant with the threat of defeat, discouragement, and even the desire not to press on. Yet, Faith's mustard seed of perseverance was sufficient for each day.

Special thanks to everyone who has shown love, abundant generosity, to those who have offered prayer and support in all forms. By the grace of God, Samara 🐻, you continue to walk in your Purpose and give God the glory for your story. CONGRATULATIONS!

God is the orchestrator and we are His instruments of praise! In 2017, I became acquainted with a generous spirit. Weichao Xu, a clasically-trained pianist, happened to be recording a house recital where I was performing. I remember connecting during the concert and we exchanged contact information. We had just missed each other as students at @peabodyinstitute , his journey starting as mine ended. Little did we know, that seemingly fleeting interaction would lead to a pivotal conversation which would begin Weichao's walk toward a new relationship with Jesus Christ!

Fast-forward, ten years later, our friendship has only blossomed, our respective walks strengthened, and our JOY is more complete! Today, I had the pleasure of making sweet music (for the first time) with my dear brother. This was our soundcheck for morning worship at his church home in Burtonsville, MD. The music flowed as easily as my tears. "Let everything that hath breath PRAISE THE LORD!" -- [Psalms 150:6]

It is always a blessing to return to @childrensatl where I spent nearly 5 years as a Neonatal ICU nurse, caring for scores of #TinySOULdiers and brave families. Each October, I return to the NICU, not armed with my stethoscope, but with Babaloo (🎻), to honor the lives of the angels who have been called home to Heaven. May God comfort all grieving families. "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer [Psalms 19:14]."

Coffee, art and music are a perfect trio! Special thanks to @jacobsjava932 for showcasing the beauty of our creative community at @chateau_elan 's 28th Annual Vineyard Fest! The dynamic artwork of @knudimension laid a backdrop as Babaloo 🎻 sang in the summer heat, infusing extra flavor to coffee served with Love! Wine tastings, hot air balloon rides, horse and carriage rides, yummy bites, and artisans of all varieties delighted all in attendance! I was most grateful to meet other lovely spirits at this memorable weekend event!

As I sit by candlelight at the end of this day, I chew upon and savor this pregnant yet quiet morsel of Time. I ponder ... somehow, by the grace of Almighty God, I have had the gift of carrying and walking with a tiny human who is, now, not so tiny. Somehow, the Lord saw fit to form you in His image, molding me as His vessel. Today, as you turn 20, I realize that words fail. Where have the years gone? I marvel at how God has crafted you -- resilient; stubborn; creative; quirky; how He breathed His Purpose into your lungs, and has given us another year to walk together.

Special thanks to all who remain our village. I don't know where we would be without your love! We are truly grateful! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAMI!

Although my zip code is in ATL, a piece of my heart will always remain in Baltimore! This weekend has been full of meaningful and musical morsels of connectivity and, most important, Love. Special thanks to my dearest Dr. Wayne L Wold and the First Evangelical Lutheran Church family for inviting me to return for morning worship each summer. I am blessed to be welcomed home with arms wide open!

I am most grateful to all of my longtime friends and family who consistently show up and pour back into my heart! To Smell, Dale and DaQuan, Sgt. Brucee and Dina, Simone, Roger and Toya, my Uncles Peter and Clyde and Don: I am so grateful to be able to pick up where we left off... I love you! My sisters Shay, Kay, big brothers Brian and Gil: you consistently demonstrate unconditional love and support. My doktuh queen Tia and my sweet COLGATE: what a joy to spend time together again! My brave and strong sister in Christ, in nursing, and in Life, Erin: thank you for being a consistent presence.
