If you met my mom before her cancer you’d understand why my mom was the most lively person I know. Even after her cancer, she still wanted to make memories and go to Disney World no matter what obstacles stood in her way. After watching her sacrifice so much for us, she was still the kind of person who wanted to go on an adventure every single day and tried to fill every vacation with more things than we could possibly fit in.

She always had her makeup done and hair dyed, and would definitely tell you if your roots were showing. She used to tell people not to say that we looked alike because it annoyed me but how lucky am I to share the same features as my beautiful mama. Everything I know about hair and makeup and clothes comes from her and she was always so supportive of my musical theatre and cosmetology career. There was not a chance she would miss any of my performances and now every show will be dedicated to her because even if I can’t see it, she’ll still be there correcting every dance move I make.

We didn’t know things would get so bad when my mom first started having seizures, but what an honor it was to take care of my mom for the last 6 months of her life. She always joked around about which kid would take care of her when she was old, and I promise I would choose to do it in every life time. I miss my mama and there’s not a moment where I don’t think about her. Every thing I say and do is a reflecting of her and how much she loved me and my siblings.

I wish I had more time with her to take one more picture, to have her watch one more show, to have one more birthday breakfast, one more thrifting date, one more phone call after class, one more care package, one more fight, and one more conversation where she would ask me to send her pictures of my adventures because she wanted to experience them too. I am scared to live a life without my mama but I know she raised us well and we’ll be okay.

I love you mama, I promise I’ll take pictures and that I’ll take of everyone. I miss you so much and I’ll see you soon ♥️ by @mere_johncena
