Like Orpheus, I’m going to come on too strong: I love this show, I love this team, I love getting to know these incredibly hard working students and seeing them shine. I love this story, and I love that I gave it everything I had. This one was important to me.

When @imagine_colabs approached me with the idea for a science themed music assignment book cover with a game board on the back, I was so intrigued! I wanted it to be a bit of an eye-spy piece, and I could have kept adding more and more details foreverrrrr. Can you find my 🦄 calling card in there?

For the game board on the back, I had the challenge of including 200 spaces with 9 different chapter titles, and of course I wanted to add little visuals to represent the title of each chapter. I made each “square” on the board a little Flubber looking kinda guy, and set the whole thing inside of a test tube to keep it on theme.

Thank you Imagine CoLabs for having such a cool vision for this project. What a blast to illustrate! I hope your students have as much fun working through this book as I had creating the cover artwork! 🧪 by @meredithwolting

This was… hard work. And I loved it!! I had to really focus for a lot of this to keep my textures consistent over multiple days.
18 hours of painting in 1 minute.

Into the woods and out of the woods
in a whirlwind of a 2 weeks.

I’ve been wanting to design this show foreverrrrrrr so thank you thank you @ashsplash3, @murphichu and @mainstagetheatre for giving me my “moment in the woods” 💕

Shout out to Bryan Steele for building my Rapunzel tower-rocky-cliff-tree and totally understanding my no-straight-line policy, of course the biggest thank you ever to my right hand @julia.sanders_ for the gorgeous prop creation and scenic assistance. You truly breathed magic and life into the details of this enchanted woods.

That time I turned Green Gables into a spaceship.

Thank you to @julia.sanders_ and @mitchell4ayres for helping me build and paint an entire house/town/spaceship. Thank you @gabrielcropley and Gareth Crew for lighting all of these worlds so gorgeously. Thank you @m_bencic for having the vision for this idea and believing that I could do it, and thank you @christophib for making sure that I did ❤️

Biggest @bravo_academy design challenge yet, and i’m pretty sure we “carried away by the perfect tea maybe I’m not an alien”ed it.

An opera with a Rapunzel moment? Let me at it. Swipe through for some of my favourite details in our newest opera comic book ✨

Pelléas et Mélisande is deliciously ambiguous and full of metaphors set in a mysterious forest. I spoke with set designer Gerard Gauci throughout the process, discussing character, symbolism, and the best way to translate his designs into comic style panels. I ended up incorporating the gorgeous painting he created for the forest backdrop into the backgrounds of my illustrations, and even did a little version of his tower. It’s always so inspiring to get to collaborate with Gerard. Big thank yous to writer @jessdebruyn, education and outreach manager @mitchald, and our print sponsor @tphcanada for the stunningly crisp quality pages ✨
