I learned of my friend’s death yesterday. Death is weird. Tib Miller was one of a kind. Like for real one of a kind, I know people say that about people and it waters that statement down, but you will never meet anyone like him. Tib was @flyingsaucerpresentsinc and unapologetically brought the coolest music here (that a lot of people in N Florida had never heard of). No one loved music like this guy. No one wanted this city to be cool like this guy.
The first time I ever spoke to Tib was when I was promoting my first record. I got the guts to call him and my phone kept dropping the conversation. He offered me some advice, “Before we speak again, you need a new cell phone.”🥴
Our paths crossed again when he judged a songwriting contest I was in. I didn’t win, but caught wind he thought I “had something special” OMG I was on his radar. After that night he put so many opportunities in my lap and always treated me like a star. I played natural life music fest one year and it was raining so bad so everywhere I went he was there holding an umbrella over my head🤣. Years later he asked me to start helping him promote shows. That’s when I really got to know Tib and his kids. We would meet at @mysouthernroots (his fav) where we would share music with each other and plan events. My first show was @bahamasmusic and I worked so hard to promote that show, I wanted to make him proud. He had the most interesting stories, but he never bragged about his accomplishments. He never took pics with the bands he brought in bc he thought it was silly. Tib was the OG hipster who wasn’t amused by just anyone, but if you were in his circle you knew you were cool. Thank you for letting me in your circle Tib. I will carry how cool you made me feel in my pocket forever, like the mini notebook of ideas and reminders you kept in your blazer pocket. 🙏🏼 by @meremererae

Paper mache snakes🐍! Paper mache clay is light and dries as hard as wood. I started making snakes with leftover clay from bigger projects, like lampshades. I fell in love with them💗. I’m thinking about adding hooks so the can be hung on a wall. What do you guys think, hanging on a wall, or as part of a tablescape? What color combos would you guys like to see?

What a weekend! Thank you to everyone that made it (and those who tried, but planes these days…) thank you @ktfigphoto for being the most amazing photographer for us. @dairingevents for not working and partying down with us, and also for giving your touch to the table-scapes. @fullblownhappiness and @iamroberthudson @doyoga_seetheworld @tenleydietrich and @rylandgummere for taking decor over when I had to leave. @bccarl for leading the ceremony with perfection🤌🏼@mylesdante AKA best videographer in the 904, came to the 504 for us. Thank you @saxxynate for being our entire tech crew. Dan Hunting made the most beautiful arrangement of Talking Heads this must be the place for me to walk down the aisle. @wfrenchquarter for being the most perfect venue and for treating us like royalty. @lesliewelchwrites for being Edie’s handler bc tired kids can really suck sometimes 😆. @needleandthreadlondon for making such a pretty dress. Kelly sterling for hair and makeup. And @downannielane for being a kick ass planner, she ran that wedding like a boss! And last but not least, @alexanderthedrummer for being the best husband for me and loving me endlessly and for throwing us an epic party to celebrate our marriage.
