Vitalik Buterin, the sharp-minded co-creator of Ethereum, didn’t just join the blockchain space - he helped reinvent it. Born in Russia and raised in Toronto, he grew up in a home where curiosity for tech was part of daily life.

That same childhood house? It’s now a hub for crypto innovators - the very place where a young Vitalik dove into coding for the first time. Fascinated early by decentralized systems, he started building long before it was cool.

Despite whispers about a wealthy background, Vitalik insists it was a modest upbringing. What he lacked in luxury, he made up for in vision - diving into programming, attending Bitcoin meetups, and crushing math competitions during his teenage years.

At Toronto’s Abelard School, he quietly excelled in computer science while planting the seeds for Ethereum and its groundbreaking smart contracts.

The journey wasn’t smooth, but Vitalik’s obsession with building open networks never faded - and it’s that relentless drive that helped reshape the future of blockchain.
