My first trip to Canada! It was quite a weekend with this fabulous crew… so many laughs, and cheese, and wine, and walking! I’m grateful to know this incredible group of artists, and honored to call them my friends. We were missing a couple, but I’d say it was an impressive turnout! Thank you so much to @virginia_yi and @sdn15 for all your work planning and organizing! 💛 Love you all! taken in Montreal, Canada by @mermaidmeadow

My dad would have been 74 today! I made this barn quilt for him back in 2020, 20 surfboards for 20 years of heaven’s waves. 🌊🩵 It hangs in my studio and brings me joy. by @mermaidmeadow

The whales have migrated!!
The pod traveled all the way from Boston to Blue Hill, and now they are enjoying their residency at @bagaducemusic ! They are especially enjoying the extensive sheet music library and native plant garden, and they cannot wait to hear all the talented musicians and vocalists practice and perform! Have you been to @bagaducemusic ? If not, you should definitely check out their event schedule… bagaducemusic.org 🎻 taken in Bagaduce Music by @mermaidmeadow

Today we finally made it down to the Saco Heath Preserve in search of carnivorous plants! We found lots of beautiful mushrooms, but only spotted one pitcher plant before the skies opened up at we were drenched by a sudden summer downpour! We also learned about the preserve’s rare Atlantic white cedars that thrive in places that have burned, and the Hessel’s hairstreak butterflies that inhabit them.
Watch to the end for the pitcher plant!

Wow, what a day in Pemaquid, Maine!

We celebrated art + science + conservation + community + joy! Thank you, a million times, to @thegoodsupply for being such an advocate and incredible space for local arts and marine conservation! Every time I step foot in that barn, I am blown away. Thank you also to Jess of @withinthewhale for bringing Chunk and sharing your wealth of knowledge about whales! And to @marinemammalsofme for all the work you do to rehabilitate and study marine life so that you can educate the rest of us:)

If you were not able to join us, and you would like a block-printed whale tote, send me a dm! They are $25, and $5 goes to Marine Mammals of Maine. taken in The Good Supply by @mermaidmeadow
