Meet Mary Grace Seigel — bringing Kate to life in Theresa Rebeck's SEMINAR!

As a founding ensemble member of Ways & Means Theatre Company, Mary Grace has been with us since day one. Her stage work includes Conscience (Artists Ensemble Theatre), Vortigern (Chicago Dramatists), and Stupid Fucking Bird (Placeholder Players), and her behind-the-scenes experience spans The Goodman Theatre, Renaissance Theatreworks, and Timberlake Playhouse — plus multiple trips to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Ways and Means Theatre is so excited to invite you to experience the power of live storytelling this Second Friday at the Little Studio Theatre in Chicago's iconic Fine Arts Building in the heart of downtown with our first selection of THE READ THROUGH.

Join us for a staged reading of "Death Tax" by acclaimed playwright Lucas Hnath — a sharp, unflinching exploration of power, dependency, and what we owe each other at the end of a life - equal parts unsettling and darkly funny.

This is your chance to see the Little Studio Theatre come alive during Second Fridays — and to be part of a reading series that believes great theatre belongs to everyone. Admission is free, with donations warmly welcomed to help us keep bringing work like this to the community.

Conscience- Artist’s Ensemble Theatre

I closed my first Equity show this weekend, and what a special experience it was! I had the privilege of sharing the stage with an outstanding cast, working on an extremely timely script, and I grew so much as a performer.
I feel like I could write an essay about Theatre and politics and how it is impossible to remove the human element of theatre and that makes it one of the most powerful art forms we have and theatre is our way to understand the world and reflect what we see back to people….
Theatre is political. Theatre is important.
