There are no words to describe the amount of gratitude and love I feel for everyone who took part in this milestone of ours.The years have not always been easy, but the friends and loved ones who have stood by me, pushed me forward, and lifted me when I did not have the strength to walk. You carried me through the hardest times and lifted me even higher when I was thriving.The power of the collective is so strong. Everyone did their part with such professionalism, generosity, and heart, and together you elevated the show to another level.Some of these girls have been there since the very beginning. We started our careers around the same time, and through the years we have shared sadness and love, travelled, seen the world, grown, cried, and laughed together.I cannot explain how grateful I am for these women, who continue to inspire me with their way of thinking, their way of seeing life, and their never-ending support and love. To have been part of some of your most important moments, and now to have you walk this show, means the world to me.Thank you for the years behind us, and for the many still to come. I am proud to introduce OTSAMO.After many years of dreaming, planning, questioning, building, starting again, and doing the work behind the scenes, we are finally less than one week away from presenting our first ready-to-wear collection.OTSAMO will debut during Fashion in Helsinki on Friday, 29 May, with a runway show in the beautiful Mirror Room of Hotel Kämp.For me, this moment marks an important new chapter. Mert Otsamo Atelier will continue as the house for our made-to-measure work, couture pieces, evening gowns, bridal wear, and special commissions. It is where the most personal, individual and handcrafted garments will continue to be created.OTSAMO Official will become its own ready-to-wear brand.These two worlds are connected by the same foundation: construction, silhouette, craftsmanship, material understanding and a strong respect for clothing as something that can carry both function and quality. But they will now exist as two separate brands, each with its own purpose and direction.OTSAMO ready-to-wear is built from the experience of the atelier, but shaped for a wider wardrobe. It is about refined archetypes, strong cuts, precise details and garments that are meant to be worn, lived in and kept. The first collection, Read Between The Lines, explores clothing beyond fixed expectations and looks at how garments can move between categories, identities and social definitions.This project has taken countless hours, long days, difficult decisions, and an incredible amount of dedication from many people.I want to thank László, my partner in crime for building this with me from the beginning, for believing in the vision and for carrying so much of the structure, strategy and work behind the brand. I am also deeply grateful to every collaborator, partner, maker, supplier, friend and supporter who has helped bring this first chapter to life.Launching a brand is never just one moment. It is a long process of shaping, testing, learning and committing. What a night!I’m still taking it all in. Im so grateful, inspired, and quietly in awe.But I want to take a moment to say something that matters to me.Last night, Fredrik Robertsson wore two custom gowns I designed at the Swedish Elle Style Awards 2026. While the final image is what people see, what often remains unseen is the time, the hours, sometimes hundreds and the level of craftsmanship behind each creations.It’s not always a given that this work is understood, or even respected.Working with Fredrik was exactly what every designer hopes for. Kind, respectful, genuinely engaged with a true appreciation for the craft. You could feel it in every interaction, and you could see it in the way he carried the gowns: with presence, but also with care.That kind of respect is rare.
