We are excited to reveal our second figure, The Black Captain. The Black Captain is a collaboration between @mafigures.etton and @merucustoms. The Black Captain is the first of two simultaneous LotR releases, designed by Meru Customs designer @kq.minifigs, and will be: • Fully pad printed • Official Lego parts • Custom injection moulded crown • Custom injection moulded Flail • Custom cape • Printed slope and official parts for seated pose Updates regarding release, resellers and price will follow in due course. Darth Nihilus AKA “The Eternal Hunger” A Custom Minifigure by @merucustoms Design / Accuracy - 4/5 - Great Darth Nihilus is one of those insanely cool Star Wars characters that I feel like LEGO won’t touch with a 10-foot pole. Although, I once thought the same about Darth Malak and was happy to be wrong. Still, it’s always cool to see a custom figure based on this devastatingly powerful Sith Lord, and if you have any familiarity with the character, this figure should be easily recognizable. The all-important mask design is pretty good. It’s not too flat-looking and has some nice highlights along the lower edges to give it a bit of depth. I dig the metallic silver along the forehead, the red markings across the top areas of the eyes look good, and the general shape of the mask is pretty dang solid. This does not acknowledge the very dark features of the face beneath the mask, but that’s a style choice that some fans generally prefer and one that I still think looks cool. Both the front and back of the torso and sloped robe piece are printed with some pretty nice-looking robe details all outlined in dark grey, which works especially well for this character. I can’t say that I am fond of the deliberate gaps in the printing between the lowermost point of the torso and the uppermost of the robe piece, but the general flow is solid, and I love the tattered details that you see more of the lower down you look. SWIPE TO CONTINUE -> #lego #legostarwars #anakinSkywalker #darthvader #obiwankenobi Darth Nihilus Print Quality - 3.5/5 - Very Good This custom figure is pad printed on one side of the headpiece, both sides of the torso, and both sides of the sloped robe piece. The opacity of the white on the mask is pretty solid aside from where you can see the mold lines along the forehead of the headpiece, but there’s also a bit of print bleed along the metallic printing on the forehead. If you look closely enough, you’ll find some nitpicks, but if you just want this figure to have a cool Sith Lord on display, there’s not much to worry about here. The dark grey printing shows up pretty nicely against the black plastic with consistent opacity across the surfaces and dec taken in A Long Time Ago, In A Galaxy Far Far Away... by @merucustoms
