Our story has always been a little like us — fast, spontaneous, sometimes decided at the very last moment, but somehow always guided by God.

Eleven years ago, only five months after we met, we decided to get married. Everything happened so quickly, without years of planning or the kind of timeline people usually imagine. We didn’t have our church wedding then, for reasons of our own, but somewhere in our hearts, we always believed that one day that moment would come.

Only four months after our wedding, we had already left together and started a completely new chapter of our lives. And that is how our life has always been — one spontaneous decision after another, new beginnings, unexpected turns, and a road that has never been completely easy.

Everything seems to happen very quickly for us, yet somehow the journey always feels long. Not because we regret it, but because our road has never been without challenges, obstacles, and moments that tested us.

And still, I don’t complain.

Because every time I look back, I can see God beside us. Somehow, things have worked out in ways we could have never imagined — sometimes even in ways we would not have dared to dream about.

And now, another unexpected chapter of our story.

This year, while we were all in Armenia, we once again did something that is so much like us — we made a spontaneous decision. We didn’t wait for a special anniversary or plan it months in advance. We simply felt that the moment was right, and we decided to have our church wedding.

And so, on August 2, we stood together in church, before God, and said those promises once again.

Eleven years ago, on this very day, we got married. We were young, we had only known each other for five months, and so much of our life was still ahead of us.

But after 11 years, I understand that what matters is not how quickly you arrive somewhere. What matters is who is walking beside you along the way.

And if, 11 years ago, someone had asked me again, “Whose side do you want to be on?”
